Had a look at the Body thread and it got me thinking about how people feel about going out with someone taller than them, in particular for guys going out with taller girls.

I'm around 5'8" - 5'9" or 173cm somewhere round that, so I'm probably just on the short side of average height for guys but even most girls aren't as tall as me, I guess the average for females is around 5'5" - 5'7", so most girls I've gone out with have been shorter than me anyway.

Though one of my girlfriends was taller than me, only an inch really but that would increase a bit when she wore high heels. I never really had any issues with it, it didn't bother since I'm pretty comfortable with my height even though it's a bit on the short side. Though she would sometimes mention it and seemed a little uncomfortable about it which I thought was interesting but then again she was quite tall and people did sometimes comment on how tall she was, so maybe her uncomfortability (dunno if that's a word  ) was to do with her height.

Do any of you guys have any issues going out with taller girls?

Do any girls have issues going out with a shorter guy?

At 5'3 I doubt I would ever have to worry about going out with a shorter guy. :D I do think it looks odd when you see a girl a lot taller than her partner, but you never think much of it when it's the girl that is a lot shorter. It shouldn't really matter if a girl is 6 inches taller than a guy. Looks kind of funny though when you see them dancing or cuddling, but hey if they are ideally suited in all other ways, forget what other people think.

Have never been out with someone taller than me. Im 5'10 so am about average height for a guy. I don't think I would have any worries about dating someone taller than me if the occassion arised.

I'm 5"5 or 5"6 and my boy is like 6 ft something. It's fine. I wear platforms but you get used to it.

Would never and have never dated anyone thats shorter than me. I think it looks funny.

some of my cousins bf's are shorter than them and it just looks weird.

I have dated one taller(only by about an inch mind you) and one shorter(5-7inches) and had no problems either way, but i would guess in general on MOST occasions, almost all, all the girls i have been attracted to have been shorter, maybe unconsciously i have been being attracted to the shorter ones?

Or maybe it's the fact that in 9 out of 10 relationships, the female is shorter than the male ;)

My gf is taller than me. Not really an issue for. I don't have any hangups that my gf may be taller than me, smarter than me, more successful than me etc. A lot of guys do.

I don't know why a lot of guys are uncomfortable with their gf being smarter or more successful than them, I'd actually prefer that situation, she can make all the money and hard decisions, I can actively persue my leisure. ;)

U shouldn't be saying that.

It'll never be a problem for me cos I'm only 5ft 2in. I seem to be attracted to fairly tall guys too - as in, over 6ft.

I think it looks a little odd if the girl towers over her boyfriend, but if they are roughly the same height it doesn't matter so much.

Yay Kristin, you are a 'pi$$ ant' just like me. Good things come in small packages, huh?:D :)

So they say (but, as my mum likes to add, so does poison!)

It's never really worried me, being short. I never even noticed that I was so short (apparently) until people started mentioning it to me at pubs. But it seems to me that a lot of girls are a similar height to me anyway (so I'm not so different), and it doesn't appear to worry the guys either!

Im 6'4...my gf is 5'7....Works out well coz she fits perfectly under my chin, so in nightclubs and bars I can hug her, meanwhile having the lay of the land above.........Comes in handy........:p

Never worries me either, in fact I love being tiny. It definitely has it's advantages!
Oh, and I get the same thing about poison coming in small packages too.

Since I am 6'2 I have never had any problems with taller girls.. my Wife is 5'10 so we are well matched.

well, I'm a shortarse....comes from being asian I guess. but, like george from seinfeld, my dream is to date a REALLY tall woman, like an amazon.

I want to be the guy in the Daihatsu Terios ad :D

Well I've always been one of the tall girls...I'm 16 and about 175cm I think, so I've always been conscious of the fact that guys around my age are always shorter! It's only been this year that a lot of guys have outgrown me lol. Not that it matters cuz my boyfriend is about 190cm. Which is great :D. I luv taller guys. If I see a girl who is a fair bit taller than the guy she's with it just looks strange..
