Not trolling here but I am after some information on him please.

How many Tiger fans think that he can play this year?
How do you rate David Gourdis?

I have heard some good rapts on him. I know he is a key position player but is he a defender or forward? I've picked him up in the draft in a trading game and any information would be helpful please. :thumbsu:

from what i have read i think he will be a longer term prospect. needs to work on his kicking but his pace and acceleration for a kpp is outstanding. good overhead too. will just need some time to develop so i wont be expecting to see him this year at afl level.

His pace and leap give him athleticism almost unheard of in a player of his size. This gives him that x-factor that teams need. He has to work on two things in the next couple of years. His endurance and his kicking. If he can improve on those, he will be extremely difficult to stop.

A long term project, but an important one that can bear rich rewards if patience and dedication are adhered to.

Mark my words.......The next big thing from the Pre Season Draft.......Will be a great Centre Half Forward.......Better than Scott Lucas

I think he's a bit of an 'all or nothing' prospect...

Endurance I'm not so concerned about...That'll come with a few years work....he might never be 'great', but good enough for a KPP forward. Kicking he might be able to improve, but then again, the best efforts of himself and the coaching staff might never get his kicking right and if it doesn't, he might never play.

Of course, if he can get his kicking ( and endurance ) right, then he seems to have everything else he needs to be a gun.

Strikes me as a worthwhile gamble for such a late pickup.

And for the OPs question, I'd be surprised if he got more than a token game this year, and wouldn't expect to see much of him next year either..but lets hope he's a quick learner :)

With all his pluses, extreme pace, stong marking and courage - for a potential power forward you think he'd have been one of the first to go in the draft. His fitness and kicking must be horrendous for a team to not even take a punt on him later in the draft. Bizarre seeing he was touted as a top 20 pick at most. You'd have to look to his training work ethic as being a major indicator as to why he was bypassed, anyone got any informed opinions as to how he handles himself during training sessions? Is he putting it in or coasting?

hmm was taken in the psd for a reason. if we get 20 games out of him we will do well.

Daniel Pearce was overlooked by all clubs...;)

There are many rookies that have made it, so he was touted as a top pick in the draft. Tell me now, how many playrs beyond pick 30 will play more than 50 plus AFL senior games?

Nathan Foley was a Rookie.

Be good if we could have got 20 games from him...OH WAIT!;)

As for Gourdis, it seems a great pick, I don't really care "WHY" other teams didn't pick him up, just see it as a needs thing, and no other club needed someone like him, or they didn't want to put in some time to get his kicking and or whatever right.

Very glad we got him and hope he will either play a NAB Cup match or a NAB Challenge (Should we lose a NAB Cup match).

have u seen his vids??? bloody awesome marking abillity and leap. ty miller ! if he plays back he will play like the kellaway boys, from wat i saw of the vids
