This sums it all up. The biggest issue is that we have issues across almost every line/area at this club.

Players - we have talent but we are not hard at it. 18th for tackle differential and very lowly rated in the pressure rankings. Not enough team unity. Pittonent being put in a headlock by Lycett for 2 minutes while no player even came to help out was tough to watch. 18th for disposal efficiency as of a few weeks ago (probably hasn’t improved). Lacking on field leadership.

Coaches - game plan is fundamentally flawed. No real value placed on defence - too easy to score against. No ability to motivate our players. Not enough development of youth in the past 2 years. Assistant coaches are not rated particularly highly.

Head of Football Brad Lloyd - signed off on big $ contracts for Gov, Williams and Martin. Recommended Teague’s appointment as senior coach to the board. Did not change one assistant at the end of last year when change was necessary. Goes on SEN 3 weeks ago and has no answers for why we are doing so badly. He is paid to have these answers.

Board - have done well off the field but still struggling to keep up with the on field side of the club (which is the core business of the club). We have Sayers rightfully ordering a full external review and MLG saying it doesn’t include the coach.

Football dept review is long overdue and hopefully can fix a number of these issues.

But I'd be utterly shocked if multiple players told the media what they had said to Sayers.

One presumes that the conversations were between Sayers and the players individually so how did a couple of player comments make it to the press on the same day that the review was leaked or announced?

Seems that it could only have come from one of those two parties and I also don't think it was the players which is why I now believe that Teague is doomed.

I don't like it but I believe it.

I tend to agree with Leppitsch that the players who went to the media confidentially and ragged on Teague should be named and shamed and traded/booted from the club at the end of the year (along with seemingly Teague)

I don't who they are. Get rid of them.

I noticed M. Lloyd was pretty quick to drop Murphy’s name in regard to players who may be disillusioned with the coach. Reckon he’d have a pretty good source.

I think Liddle has emphasised a happy inclusive club that is fun to be around, a fun place to come to work. That's what he has tried to bring over from Richmond, along with more members.

Unfortunately while that all sounds good and well it doesn't complement Teagues lax approach. At Richmond this was more balanced with a hard nose coach.

There needs to be a balance where fear is always in the back of their minds (players these days aren't as self driven as yesteryear), keeping them on edge.

The current balance might work at Google HQ but performance sports are a different beast.
