Yeah, maybe who it was coming from rather than nature of the sledging, when Dave was eligible to play for Australia he used to kiss the pitch for Jason's dead brother so the comments might have that extra sting

Maybe they did not hear it.If the comments were so bad, what were the umpires doing and why didn't they intervene?
Does anyone know what was actually said.
It seems a lot have a strong opinion on the matter but without knowing what was said I don't see how you could.

After "lol, hahahaha" I lost interest but I believed they called it mental "disintegration".
But to be clear you think sledging is "crass and abhorrent" (you're welcome) but **** David Warner. Amirite?

Possibly.I wonder if they weren’t actually that good mates and Jason felt he was going over the top with his public mourning? (I have no idea for the record)
As pointed out, there are actually rules, so it’s pretty easy to work out where the line is. Warner crossed it plenty of times. He’s a tool. If Hughes used a tragic accident to try and get under someone’s skin, he’s potentially a bigger tool. If all he said was Warner was a disgrace, there’s nothing in it, but I doubt Warner would walk over that.It seems that you are saying that Warner shouldn't be deciding where this mythical "line" lies but you can - as per the bolded. Actually, no-one can decide where the "line" is because it is subjective. What is acceptable to one is unacceptable to another.
Even if Jason Hughes did say something to Warner which many may think goes beyond the pale, he may be of such a mindset that he considers what he said to be perfectly justified.
And now we have Warner's wife coming out and deciding that what was said to her husband was "abuse"........it's funny how it becomes that when her husband is on the receiving end and not when he is dishing out the nasty stuff. Spare me.
Maybe we need a "sledging tribunal" to arbitrate on the acceptability of what is said on the sporting field.........
And, as has been pointed out with the McGrath example, it's very much an area where taking the moral high ground is fraught with danger. McGrath did precisely that (ie take the high ground) over a retort involving his (then sick) wife - but apparently his provoking it by saying that an opponent indulges in oral sex with his captain was perfectly acceptable. What a dick (pardon the pun).
In relation to what is an isn't acceptable sledging? Or more broad? As pointed out, there are actually rules, so it’s pretty easy to work out where the line is. Warner crossed it plenty of times. How can Candice say 'there's a difference between sledging and abuse' , a bit hippocritical. She's married to the man who screamed abuse at AB DeVilliers as he walked off.
Seems young Davey can dish it out but not take it very well. Surprise surprise.
Fairfax Media understands Hughes said to Warner, "You're a disgrace, you shouldn't be playing cricket." It's believed the comments were in relation to the ball tampering incident in South Africa for which Warner copped a 12-month ban from playing for his country after being found by Cricket Australia to have been the architect of the plan.

If I was playing him in the next game I'd get stuck into him for his missus fighting his battles.
Who thought that was a good idea? FFS
Silly campaigner is just providing material for every slip cordon he's ever going to play against for the rest of his career.******* oath you would, especially now you know he gets easily rattled. He’ll end up stabbing someone with a stump one day I reckon.
