Okay he also said he'd comeback for the Champions Trophy if he was still playing well 🤷

I just assumed he was retiring full stop after the Sydney test tbh. Did he think he was going to skip the white ball matches in the summer, take the coin from the middle east, then waltz back into the one day team for the major tournaments? Way more viable options to open in white ball cricket sorry Davey.

While the polarising batter has largely dodged questions about Cape Town since his 2019 return - it's widely believed he is saving the juiciest facts for his first biography - he did reminisce on the episode when speaking to media in Sydney on Monday.

"Reflecting on that, that whole period and my whole career, I've got no regrets," Warner said

He's an incredibly big peice of shit

No surprises here - once he’s clear he’s going to tip the biggest 🪣 of shit on CA

John the bookmaker, slagging off a teammate into a microphone, smashing someone's camera, shutting down a charity in a tizz when the media noticed it seemed to exist to keep people he knew employed, held a lifelong grudge against Steve Waugh for dropping him for one match, aforementioned drug cheating. There was a lot.

Why do people remain so convinced that he ragged on Scott Muller? Even independent expert voice analysts said that it wasn’t Warne. What would he possibly have to gain from saying it. He would have played with dozens of guys through the years who didn’t play their best cricket at all times during their first few tests.

The 'logic' was that Warne was prone to doing dumb, controversial things, so therefore he must have said that.

I don't believe Warne actually said that, FWIW. Warne's voice had a very distinctive twang, whereas the voice on the stump cam had a higher pitched, more 'generic' accent.

M Clarke ? Players never had the scrutiny that they do now, look at the s**t thrown at Pat Cummins
Clarke copped a lot of shit (most of it unfair) but Warner is on a whole other level. I never felt a large % of Australians actively wanted him to fail like with Warner.

Shane Warne ending up with a MCG stand named after him is amazing given he missed a whole year for drug cheating and did other stuff that made it obvious he was a complete dickhead

No doubt Warnie made some mistakes and got extremely funny with other players for no reason but for the fact he was jealous of them (Gilchrist being one of them) but there is doubting his cricket ability.

Pat Cummins was abit silly in speaking out against climate change when 99% of cricket fans are working class and probably hold a job in the coal mines or energy sector, sometimes your better off keeping opinions to yourself as a public figure.

Regarding Clarke he come into a aged team similar to what we have now, they were all in there low to mid 30s and Clarke was the young 24 year old that wanted to go off and do his own thing and rubbed his team mates up the wrong way, tbh Clarke is still getting around the social scene as a 40 something year old, its just him I guess.

Warner opened up yesterday saying Lords would have been his last Test if he didn't perform, didn't he get bowled from a no ball early in the first innings when he scored 66?.. regardless I think thats just bullshit talk by Warner he was never retiring until Sydney unless the selectors punted him first.

Maybe, but I think the Facebook hate crew would have still gone at Cummins over Langer's removal*.

After seeing Langer in the test doco and hearing him on commentary I am amazed our players put up with him for so long. He's a massive tool.

Come off it, bloke knocks about with Margaret Court and comes up with genius concepts like elite mateship. Not Langer's fault the players weren't as forthcoming in recognising his greatness as he was.

With the benefit of hindsight and hearing them talk, perhaps the reason why Haydos and Langer were such "great mates" is because nobody else could stand them.

Even when he chucks it in his book who is going to believe him?

Many things can be true at once.

Langer was probably a great teammate.

He was not a great coach, or at least a coach with a use-by-date.

The qualities which made him a great teammate limited him as a coach.

Cricketers hold grudges, grind axes etc, so his former teammates stuck up for him.

Some of his former teammates are a bit dull.

His 'shhhh' celebration just showed what a massive w***er he is and that he hasn't changed or 'mellowed out' at all like some have said post sandpaper.

Great cricketer, but will be happy when he retires.

He definitely mellowed, 2 years pre sandpaper gate he was hurling abuse constantly throughout the day out in the field and was pretty aggressive, don't see that post sandpaper gate.

& as if he won't have a dig at Starc, Hazlewood and co in his book in retirement, they kicked him out the group chat and turned there back on him when shit hit the fan lol
