Geez, I'm still recovering from last night's match! So does Tomic have any chance at all tonight of forcing a 5th rubber? He is 15-2 in DC Cup singles & just watched his team mates leave it all out on the court & fight to the bitter end.

I really hope watching that puts a fire in his belly. Blokes like kyrgios do not deserve to play DC irrespective of their skill level.

Might get a set at most even then I doubt it

Just out of curiosity, who do you think Wally will name in the unlikely event of a live 5th rubber?
My guess would be Hewitt.

Havent seen Tomic play at this level for a long time, perhaps ever. Lights out at the moment.

At the moment that is....

Big ask now for Bernie if you look at the ATP Stats, Murray 452-33 all time when winning the first set, has only ever lost one match from 2 sets up and it was in 2006.

Set 2 is a must win for obvious reasons.

Well no surprise, Mr Passive Tomic was never going to win. Next.

His game plan of standing on the baseline and trying to out rally Murray is pretty stupid i agree, Murray does everything he does only better.

You have to be aggressive to beat him even Federer doesn't try and rally with him and play cat and mouse at the back of the court only Djokovic can live with Murray from the baseline over BO5, you need to hit anything short for a winner.

Ah well, the tie was effectively over last night, I just hope Great Britain don't win the final.

Australia's time will come soon enough, especially once Hewitt assumes the role he was always destined to play as Davis Cup captain.

It's guaranteed, they have the best singles player by far and the best doubles player by far to team with the best player.

No way in hell do Belgium or Argentina win in Great Britain.

True. Maybe us, Belgium and Argentina can form a team since Great Britain get to draw players from more than one country.

But now I'm just being a sore loser.

His game plan is rubbish and it is why I am not sure he will be any more than a top 20 player. The worst thing is, he has the shots and yet decided to try and beat Murray from the back of the court

Questionable to say the least.
he's had some big scalps in his time and when he is confident and up and about he's a good player. He has tennis brains for sure and does read the play. But really lets himself down in terms of his mentality to the game at times, still would be our best player atm (not just based on rankings)

Doesn't have the game or for that matter the mental application. You should have more than 1 game plan. Tomic is way too defensive to be more than a top 15-20 player. Nothing about his game is 'elite'
