No William Duursma?i did a top 5 on the first post
I think he is a wonderful athlete and a good height for a mainly outside type, good tall flexible type that can play anywhere, I just saw some small faults In his game at the u16s that has made me cautious on over rating him, I know Twomey rates him very highly, I liked that he pushed forward and played wing a bit more as he looked more comfortable in that role, whereas in defense he got caught out and turned it over at times, I think the other 5 players are better than he is(most of them are midfielders which is where most of the best prospects end up), I personally have him around 6-10 approx and that's after he impressed me last year, but as you know it's their draft year that really matters. No William Duursma?
He is really good, he should be playing u18s at some time this year imo.Taj Garrett Captain of Sturts U/16
The other question of Duursma is which position is he playing to crack the top 5? If we’re talking bout versatility sure, but otherwise I agree 6-10 is more his range to date. I like your top 5, I’d leave Onley out until he (hopefully) improves his kicking and I think Sam Cumming is going to get to a top 5 level if he isn’t thereabouts already. So many strings to his bow. Look forward to your comments on the cohort this year, looks like a strong top end albeit without the depth of 2024.I think he is a wonderful athlete and a good height for a mainly outside type, good tall flexible type that can play anywhere, I just saw some small faults In his game at the u16s that has made me cautious on over rating him, I know Twomey rates him very highly, I liked that he pushed forward and played wing a bit more as he looked more comfortable in that role, whereas in defense he got caught out and turned it over at times, I think the other 5 players are better than he is(most of them are midfielders which is where most of the best prospects end up), I personally have him around 6-10 approx and that's after he impressed me last year, but as you know it's their draft year that really matters.
Beyond his years that is for sure and a great size too. Has that forward lean about him at times. He is really good, he should be playing u18s at some time this year imo.
They have Matthew Owen who should go highish, they also have Caylen Murray they might pick up who some rate in the same part o the draft as Cooper, maybe Hamish MacPherson could be a possible pick up for Brisbane? but not 100% sure at this early stage.Davo-27, Can I ask a question, I saw you posted at the start of the thread, that Hodge will be one of the players you will be keeping an eye on this year, for next year.
Do Brisbane have any highly rated kids that are draft age next year in their academy, that may push Hodge to us(Hawks). As Brisbane will prioritise getting them over Cooper that you will be looking out for this year.
he fell to the rookie draft and played 21 AFL games in his 2nd season last year, had a 2 goal game to start this season, hes doing OK so far.Davo.
You were probably the only one I saw having Seth Campbell ranked as highly as you did at the start of 2022.
He's done a backflip after kicking a game icing goal.
Great list Davo.I thought i would do a top 25 prospects prior to the season starting to give some people an idea to where i see them placed coming into the season.

I like Addinsall and he will get drafted, good contested accumulator that lacks a bit of hurt factor for me to put him in my top 25, unless he improves that part of his game I think he is a pick 20-40 type, but if he shows he can hurt opposition teams I will change my ranking of him. I know he had a relatively good u17s futures game and got a rep boost, but I've seen a bit of him play and he often isn't clean or hurt opposition, he could improve enough under the pressure of his draft year and change my mind?Great list Davo.
I know this isn't how you think they will be drafted, but the Suns would be delighted if Addinsall slips that far.

cheers, i need an editor tbh, Jevan Phillipou hasnt really impressed me in a few games, i will need to see more of him in action this year, i will keep an eye out for Jack Cook.Sam Cumming is a North Adelaide Rooster mate.
Better keep an eye on a couple of WWT Eagles lads Jack Cook and Jevan Phillipou Davo.
I posted the video of Jack Cook's 1st round MVP game in the 2025 draft thread if you're interested. His old man Tim Cook was a handy footballer for the Crows and Central Districts.cheers, i need an editor tbh, Jevan Phillipou hasnt really impressed me in a few games, i will need to see more of him in action this year, i will keep an eye out for Jack Cook.
he was a good player for the winning WA side at the u16s, good medium tall def/mid type, but i will have to see if he has improved or gone backwards, because last year i was big on some SA players who were looking good at u16s in their dominant year, but didnt develop or they became less athletic after the u16s champs, so i will need to see how they go against their peers this year.Where do you see Judd Marcello ?
