How come the squads are all different sizes?
Vic Country 31 Vic Metro 40?

Theres a few kids from WA that im not sure on yet and waiting for more proof on, players like George Gale, Campbell Creyk, Benji Van Rooyen, Noah Braun, Jayden Clarke, Lachlan McGlade and Harvey Spawton-Guy, so im waiting for the champs to see where they fit compared to the other talent from other states at the champs, i didnt see the WA pre champs state games so i will have to wait for the champs.

  • George Gale looks good and could slot in around 15-20 on my rankings, 1 that slipped my mind when putting list together(he is p21 now)
  • Harvey Spawton-Guy i havnt seen much of, but i hear he is doing good things
  • Creyk(hbf/wing), Braun(wing), McGlade(sml forw) and Clarke(wing/mid) are exciting types, need to see them against better oppo
  • Van Rooyen is a bit generic as a ruck compared to HVH and Herbert tbh
  • Finlay Yeo is quick but erratic, lacks composure imo
  • Cooper Ramsay i liked his speed for a big man in his underage year at the u16s, but he has been injury plagued for most of 2 years

Just my thoughts on some WA guys left out, a few guys i rate higher from their u16s performances like Robinson, Van Dyk and Leo Steed, maybe thats why they seem over rated? because maybe they are injured or not in form or sometimes their bodies develop in a way that makes them less athletic, this has happened a few times over the years where a prospect was highly athletic at u16s and then either puts on muscle or just grows a certain way and loses that athletic advantage, but sometimes they need quality games to shine like champs football, so we'll see...
Thanks for your honest feedback. I've watched these guys closely through the first few rounds of Colts & the practice matches. If your interested, this is my take on your list.
  • Firstly, my comment on overrated players was not Robinson, Mellody or Steed. I believe Steed will surprise a lot of people come the champs.
  • I agreed last year that Yeo was talked up too much but I don't know what he did in the offseason but he will surprise a lot of people in the champs.
  • George Gale is a wait & see in the champs but has improved on last year.
  • HSG has struggled a bit & with the strong KPDs is this draft, I hope he surprises me.
  • Banfield, Braun & McGlade will get through to Cat B for the Eagles.
  • Clarke has only just came back from a broken arm so I haven't seen enough of him.
  • BVR is a wait & see on the carnival as he hasn't really dominated the scratchies or Colts games consistently.
  • Cooper Ramsay has got injured again & I'm not sure he'll be in the Carnival.
The ones you've missed are:
  • The Unicorn Cameron Maynard. He is the best small forward for WA & possibly the only indigenous player that is not an NGA for Freo until next year.
  • Byron Foster KPD hasn't been beaten at all so far so it will be interesting to see how he goes against the National KPF.
  • Tom Brown a tough no nonsense midsize defender that will show his wares in the champs.
