Hine walked out of the Pies room with paperwork and support.

Something is happening.

I think he has a petition with 150,00 signatures on it calling for Carolyn Wilson to be deported.:D

Conditional to her leaving, she reckons Dusty goes with her. Hope he practiced his haka.

they're stoked and hope he wins a flag with us

Literally LOL'd. I have no idea why. Phew. This has taken the edge off the GF loss, thank Christmas for that.

Thanks to Dayno, I can escape the recurrent nightmares, flashbacks, and PTSD.

He's obviously a bit all over the place mentally and struggled to manage his exit but I don't get the feeling we need to worry about our culture too much.

We might have overpaid a bit but that was going to happen if we wanted him. Shame we couldn't get 57 out instead of 56 but s**t happens. We'll know in 2-3 years whether we were justified in doing the deal. I am cautiously optimistic about it , glad to have him back but not over the moon with the trade itself.

Agent Beams done good.

Not really, cost us plenty when he left and we were fortunate that we picked up some good players and now costing us plenty in him coming back.

Brisbane and Dayne big winners in the deal. Anyway we don't all need to agree.

Now the deal is done and when/if he makes us better then I will join you and others.

WTF?

We got JDG, Crisp and a pick for Greenwood when Beams first left.

We bent the Lions over in that deal.

Agree totally, not sure apart from Maggie if there's another person in Australia that thinks we paid plenty in that trade

I won’t speak for anyone else, but my opinion isn’t based on that at all.

I have no problem with him leaving to be with his Dad. I do hold a grudge at how he treated us on his way out. We gave him what he wanted and he handled the move poorly imo. I have a long memory and won’t forget that quickly.
Totally with you.

I won't even bother to replying to him. Only he could come up with something like that.

Very easy to think that in retrospect, wish I could see the future that clearly.

Correct.

So Pick 18 this year and Pick around 15 to 18 or so gets us: Beams, Quaynor, Kelly
... plus the other picks that we use to make up the points value.

What’s to stop a team like Carlton being dicks and bidding on Quaynor with pick 1 knowing full well our draft strategy relies on us using points and not picks? Assuming we don’t match we get stuck with picks way down the order that are gonna be absolute no use to us. Meanwhile Carlton still get a promising (but admittedly not best available) talent.

To me we play with fire with this strategy, relying on our points being enough.

SOS is dumb but even he wouldn't do that :D

Let's just hope that nobody rates IQ too high..........or too low  Pick 17 would be nice.

I understand that, but we lose all versatility with the pick. If you head to the draft with pick 18, if someone takes the player you have your eye on you take the next best option. With our current hand, if Quaynor goes with something we simply can’t match we don’t get the next best prospect. Instead we get a shithouse one.

These kind of strategies will burn someone bad one day. I pray to god it isn’t us.
