One thing ill give Dean Bailey credit for is that he could have tried to stem the flow by putting massive numbers behind the ball and maybe it would have only been a 70-80 point win. At least he is sticking to his guns (unlike Pagan the coward use too).

this question is to Terry Tan (not the decent rfc supporters)

did richmond employ the right block (bloke) 4 years ago?

i mean TW did actually say that richmonds list was in better shape than Hawthorns. 4 years ago it might have been , but today?

Who's a good coach?

Who can build a list?

Who appointed the wrong coach on a long contract and cant afford to get out of it?

Who is baseing his side around a player who wont be there to see the next tigers flag?

Should i go on?

Remember , this is to TT not the rest of you. It's not having a go at Richmond , its having a go at Terry Tan and his name sake

Ok you screwball, i'll answer you.

The main reason the Hawks are flying is that you have a dominant FF that doens't need to be mentioned cos he already gets enough publicity.

Without this man, you would be struggling to make the 8.

Now lets switch shoes. If our recruiter back then, yes the one who just got sacked a few weeks ago, had picked up this freak FF, the Tigers would be sitting where the Hawks are and the Hawks sitting where the Tigers are on the ladder - on & off the field. The only difference would be we would be getting even more massive crowds.

Does that answer your question screwball?!?

Seriously Tanned Terry, do you really believe the stuff that you type? This thread has turned on you on a biblical scale.

Quite funny to see.........screwball. :)

why bag Bailey ?
he dosent have the talent that other clubs have,
it was 16th v 1st , all football fans ,( melbourne fans included) would have expected to be beaten by quite a few. maybe not as many as the final margin , but then again they were beaten by Geelong.
Geelong are very hard to stop when on a roll.
The swans rarely get flogged , but i am worried about next saturday . it might be the first real flogging we have had in years.
if it happens , sure i wont be happy , but geelong are an exceptional unit.

The Dees were never going to get close but seriously, the way Bailey went about it by applying a massively defensive minded game plan showed he lacked thought tonight. He had every midfield player tagging a Geelong midfielder, as one of the commentators said, they were all playing reactive football which gave the Dees no chance of getting the ball forward. He did change it a little in the second though but he still had Chris Johnson tagging Bartel even after it was obvious Johnson has no idea how to tag after the first quarter.

Saying that he really has taken over an average list which is decimated by injuries at the moment but it definitely wasn't a good coaching performance tonight i feel, especially in the first half.

Add to that Cam Bruce on Stevie J. The dees had no drive at all and seemed to be intent on limiting the damage rather than doing anything themselves.

Daniher has a lot to answer for really. Left the club with a Fitzroy type list.

Daniher and Cameron screwed us completely, left us with a list with no senior leadership, no replacement for neitz, an inexperienced defence and no depth in the middle. We're also at 100% of the salary cap

Richmond on the other hand are 4 years into a 5 year plan and what do they have? A team that will finish somewhere around.....9th ;)

At least Bailey has come in, immediately realised the problem, he's goign to get rid of the dead wood and he's developign the kids. Richmond has Craig Cameron, one of the people responsible for our plight :D

Hack coach.

I think they sacked the wrong block when they axed white jacket McNamee...Bailey's even worse!

irrelevant and laughable

Bailey is going in the right direction doing an excellent job. No doubt if I was to bother searching through threads i'd find one from you saying knights is a hack after essendon's several heavy losses this year.

irrelevant and laughable post

2004 adelaide crows got thumped by the lions by some 100+ margin..i think it was 144 points, Neil Craig then turned his side around to make it minor premiers the next year....OP you are missing two more words in your username, try this name Terry Tan The Tool

Bailey is playing a team of mostly kids, of course they were going to get thrashed. Geelong players were just too strong in the contest. I haven't seen a lot of Melbourne this year thankfully but most Demon fans seem to think he is on the right track and that is who he is answerable to in the end.

However having watched the "game" last night, I think Bailey has a bit to answer for in the way Melbourne went about it, they had absolutely no clue what they were doing out there.

Your mob are easily the best team in the comp, we're an inexperienced team at the start of a rebulding phase. Recently you made the Bulldogs look second rate and they're the second best team, realistically we had no chance, and the conditions exposed our experience and skill even further.

Not too sure I was happy with him taking an interview at half time when his side's down by 11 goals, but overall there wasn't much he could have done last night.

So your saying Roughy is a gun? tell us something we dont know!

There is a saying that is pretty apt for Baileys position

"You cant polish a piece of shit"

To say he inherited a diabolical list is an understatement. There is some potential, but there is a looooooooong road ahead for the Dees.

Bailey reminds me of Peter Rohde.

How he performs in the off season will have an impact on his position. Stynes does not appear an easy man to please, Melbourne have got the right kind of president.

Melbourne's Forward line is terrible. They have class there, no doubt. However, the defensive pressure of their forwards is sub standard. I watched the first quarter last night and I was shocked.

And the great big holes in the midfield/defense - how many times did a Geelong player have the ball in about 30m of space? Once is excusable, but the number of times it happened last night was inexcusable IMO. You may not be on par with the best team in the league, but the basic principle of manning up is not a tough one to follow surely?

Wow, this guy really doesn't like us.

What's wrong Wallet? The Tigers haven't made finals ONCE in 3 years under the current coach and it is unlikely to change this season, what is Wallet's excuse?

OMG - a new force has arisen on Bay 13. I have never seen the likes of this - Biffinator.

It's official - RFC is back in town.

After 25 years of crappy coaches (except for Swooper Northey), recruiters and administrators - the dark, bleak days are finally over and happy days are here again.

We're playing like the Tigers of old - tough, ferocious, powerful, direct, skilled, strong & bold.

Thank you Greg Miller, Thank you Terry Wallace. Eat 'Em Alive Tigers!

C'mon Saints fans, let it all out... St Kilda Board - 25th June 2005, 10:15
Hello Saints fans,

This is your pyscho analyst. I have been working with the Richmond supporters the last few decades, and now have been told to get over here and help you lot out.

I can FEEL your pain. You have been a resilient lot, never threatening to get angry or blame anyone. Just taken your pain quietly.

Now it's time to let it all out, SCREAM if you have to, cos it's not good keeping it all bottled up inside, it hurts you like that.

C'mon Sainters, let it all out, tell me how you feel, I'm listening...

The trouble with Richmond is...
Low Confidence, self esteem and belief.

The club has been losers for so long, 23 years now, that their confidence is very fragile. Many of our players have lost season after season.

They don't believe they are winners. They are like an old dog that's been flogged too many times. When things get tough, their confidence is so fragile they drop their heads and fall apart. They put the tail between their legs and cop the hiding. That's why we always get thrashed by good teams. That's why we never come from behind to win. We don't believe we can come back, can win.

Low confidence is why our skill level drops. Let's face it, footy is a mental game these days. Every team trains the same, has the same fitness levels, similar game plans. The difference is what they are thinking between their ears.

The best teams have high confidence in themselves being good enough to win, to come back, to perservere when things get tough. Richmond do not believe they are good enough. That is Terry Wallace's big task - to clean out the non believers and give the players confidence to believe they can win, that they are good enough.

Aaron Hamill should be captain
What's the story with this rotating captaincy? It has been a disaster this year with Riewoldt not performing well at all.

Everybody knows Hamill should be captain for the next 3 years, and Riewoldt, Hayes or Ball captain there after.

Pies will win wooden spoon in 2006+
With Nathan Buckley about to retire in 2 years time, a shocking list, and a coach that has lost the plot, is Collingwood finished forever? Their my tip for wooden spoon in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Brad Ottens - still a dud
8 kicks, 3 hb's, 5 marks, 2 points = $500,000 per year.

"Leave him alone, all of you, all of you, all of you, all of....."

StKilda had the balls, but Geelong doesnt
Congratulations St.Kilda you may have saved your Premiership window by sacking GT the coaching imposter. That took balls to get rid of such a dictator.

But I doubt Geelong will have the balls to rightfully sack perennial under performer Bomber Thompson. Once again Geelong, soft and weak.

Terry Tan - Essendon Board 10th June 2006, 08:25

Try Courtney Johns at CHB?
I've watched Johns in his few games and reckon he can be a decent player if he has a good run with injuries, and gets some confidence.

But I don't think he is a forward.

How about trying him at CHB and leaving him there for the rest of the season to see how he goes. The smaller McPhee can then run off the back flank.

Johns has good body size, is strong, and reminds me alot of Mooney and Croad, who started playing well when they were moved to defence.

What you guys think?

Terry Tan - AFL Board - 16th May 2006, 16:42 Anti-Daniher Demon supporters a disgrace
There were lots of calls by disgruntled Demon supporters to sack The Reverand at the start of the year.

Well, where have all these supporters gone??? They've all gone into hiding, all happy to eating humble pie at the teams turn around, thanks to Daniher!

And now not even one of these Range Rover driving, tweed jacket wearing, downhill skiers will even get on big footy to give The Reverand a pat on the back.

Shame fickle Demons, shame

Ray Hall - Bye Bye Boy from Woy Woy
A sad end to this fella's "career".

His star shone so bright when young, his best game the 2001 2nd Semi against Carlton. Remember that running goal from 50mts to the Punt rd end?

What a demise he's had. Injured all year, slow, poor kicking and bad decision making.

Terry Tan - Richmond Board 11th June 2007, 01:01

Is this the season we had to have?!
I know this is going to come as a strange comment. But is 2007 the year we had to have?

We have been so close to winning so many games. Yet have won none!

I think Brown, Simmonds and Coughlan may have got us over the line in some of those matches.

I hope that the young players are learning the caper this year for a full assault in '08. We really need the young players to come up, esp. Tambling and Meyer to strut their stuff.

And a few more good recruits in the draft could make all the difference.

Is this season a case of going backwards so we can go forward in '08 and beyond?

your thoughts.

Won't be at Punt rd next year.

Ratten - is he unqualified to coach?
Rumour has it Monday is the big day were Ratten will be appointed senior coach of Carlton.

What happens if they lose to Essendon today? Why would anyone appoint a coach who can't win a game?

Ratten is not qualified to coach compared to other new upstarts such as Longmire, Bond, Hardwick, McKenna. Looks like Carlton once again have rorted the system.

Try Richo on Franklin???
start Richo on Franklin???

He's got the speed, he's got the height, the leap, and knows how a forward thinks.

worth a shot?? thoughts.

Terry Tan - 4th May 2008, 08:49 richmond board

Big Men win Big Matches
We're just short on a few big men to carry us over the finish line when we need it.

Richo is in Brownlow form, but if we had another quality tall up forward to finish off all the midfield's hard work, we would have beaten the Dogs and Saints and be sitting pretty in the 8.

Also need another quality tall in the back. Polak was supposed to be the man here but he's been disappointing this year.

I still think they drafted too many whippets the last 5 years, and it's coming back to bite.
