The Good - it looks as if Mitch is OK - I think.
Viney.
The Bad - N/A
The Fugly - Our crab-like movements across the ground.
FFS play Blease four quarters !!!!!
If Neeld is going to blindly follow Malthouse's "the boundary line is your friend" mantra then he is dead man walking.

Fugly: Our kick in strategy. It's like a big game of Russian roulette (i.e. kick it to Jamar) except there are five bullets in the revolver. Every sixth time we may get out of it okay, otherwise it's just straight back in there.

Teams playing against us are rewarded for their inaccuracy.
Sigging this

Apparently Viney addressed the playing group after the game.

Just a rumour but it says a lot about him AND our club.

It wouldn't surprise me, leadership is not always easy to see but at training it was clear he was showing his leadership.

If that is true, it is a ****ing disgrace and also not at all surprising.

Maybe Bailey realised they were all front running softcocks and adjusted the game plan to suit, but Neeld won't budge and needs to move on another 15 at the end of the season before we see what he is trying to do - in more than short glimpses at least.
I hope for all our sakes you're right about Neeld, but logic suggests it's more likely the coach has the wrong idea than 25+ players on the list were all useless.

I saw that too. Fair play to them for getting into him, it was a p!ssweak act. A month in the magoos proving he has the desire to play hard footy before he's even considered for the seniors again.
My thoughts exactly. You don't (especially a big bloke) duck your head like that. You just don't drop those marks. Weak as piss and should see weeks at Casey.

This speaks volumes of Jack... but I don't like it. The kid should not shoulder this pressure that needs to be the responsibility of others. Neeld sounds weak allowing him to take it on.
It's not uncommon for any player to speak their mind to the group behind closed doors. It doesn't mean he was standing up front delivering a spray or anything. Could have been sitting amongst them saying something to the effect of "I've been a supporter of this club for 19 years and we were pathetic today guys..." etc. etc.

It doesn't point to him having undue responsibility placed on him by Neeld, Grimes or anyone else.

Hope u dont mind me posting, I know u boys must be getting alot off your chest.

The reason why you are struggling is because the f#$^%& AFL has brought 2 new teams in! Instead of a rebuild taking 5 or so years (Haw, Geel, WCE) in the past 15 years, it will now take 7 or 8 years plus in this era because all the good drafts are gone gone gone. Add in a few suspect draft choices and a side is screwed.

Honestly I think the AFL want to choke some VIC clubs out of existence, I mean with the near miracle you need to win a flag these days (without all the interstate concessions) Its a major turn off supporting a club. Add a small supporter base and if you were told that its more possible than not that your club will not win a flag for over 40 years (again this is a estimate for a VIC club) WHY WOULD YOU REALLY GIVE A F$%^.

The AFL runs this comp like a pack of blind rats, just wanting a pay rise for expanding the game (yes NZ WTF!)

Does have truth, right now without GWS and GC we'd have two more top 5 picks to play around with and trade for some real class.

Not sure if it was necessary to take a pot shot at us in the thread title, but anyway I thought Viney looked very good today. You've got yourselves a gun there. Funny that he and Wines had very similar stats given they're mates and on debut, will be interesting to see who gets the rising star nod (if either).

We always do, nothing personal. Wines will because you won.

Oh I wanted to bring this up (forgot til now) someone near us yelled something at Watts (to the effect of 'it's not under tens') when he patted a Port player on the back after he kicked a goal (I think). Anybody know the story?

Good: Viney - I actually feel sorry for him having to share a field with the following "fuglies".
Bad: Bad would actually be paying us a compliment in terms of how terrible we were
Fugly: Wow, where do you start? Sellar who seemed to forget how to play football in the space of 2 weeks, Sylvia (this is the playing who we thought was going to take the next step, right?), Tapscott (not up to AFL/VFL standard), Jamar (what has happened to this bloke?), Gillies (see comments about Tapscott).

The real fugly:
I have tried to hold back from commenting for a while after the game to reflect on things but now I have to unleash. We have put in bad efforts in the past (see the infamous 186 debacle) but I cannot remember a game where I have been so furious with the playing group. This was round 1 - not some meaningless round 17 game against an interstate club where we are out of finals contention and have nothing to play for. This was a chance to set the standards for a new season and we serve up this rubbish. We were that bad today that we would have lost an intra-club game against ourselves.

After trying to defend the club during the tanking investigation, I am feeling like saying "f**k you" to the MFC for the rest of this year. It is clear that the majority of the players don't want to be there and the coaching staff is too weak/incompetent to do anything. Driving your fans to walk away from games, is there a bigger fugly in footy???

yeah, it was that bad

Good: Viney - quality debut, Clark - good patches, not enough opportunity.

Fugly: We were never in it, at all. I arrived at the MCG and it was 1-14. We were behind the whole day, and never once threatened.
