Although Fev was instrumental today (the goal he created for Grigg was outstanding), credit must go to Jammo, Waite, T-Bird, Bowzer and co. I'm sure it must get to the boys when every time they read about Carlton its about the weak backline, well boys take a bow you stuck it em up today.

Yep, they were fantastic. The only one that got me nervous today was Waite, with some of his disposal. Bower was outstanding today. And Bannister deserves a lot of credit. Gibbs tackle on Medhurst was gold.

Fantastic effort by the defenders, I especially loved Bower. But the thing that stood out for me was everyone! An enormous team effort, everyone did something that impressed me. Every single player!

Pies were insipid and if they dish up that sort of effort and disrespect against an opponent for the rest of the year, they won't win another game.

Our back 6 were sensational today. The Collingwood forwards had absolutely no impact at all. The were clearly out-played by Waite, Bower, Thornton, Jamison and co.

Was great to see the boys work so hard for each other. IMO our backline can become our major strength in coming years.

boyz its simple: bower is a gun. i didn't think his position in the squad was really necessary until today. he brought up team morale, especially in the defense.

it wasnt just the defense though. the team had an all round clean disposal count, instead of the usual sloppy play. kreuzer turned up the heat, as did fev with another high tally of goals.

nice work fellas, keep it up and we're looking at a top 10 season!

Whilst i agree our backline was awesome today i think our defensive pressure all over the ground was first rate. Grigg's job on Heath Shaw was really good and i thought at times he set the tone for the forward's. Midfield pressure was also much better today and this defintiely helped our backmen. Gibbs is often criticised for being soft yet his pressure on the ball carrier was as good i have have seen this season. Outstanding effort from a young group today who stuck to a game plan and beat a side lauded for their structure and consistency hands down!
