Would be an almost perfect half-forward or even forward pocket, hes a bloody smart player

He can easily play midfield for another 2-3 then the last 2-3 in the foward line.

I would think a player wants to get fair value in their contracts, and then would agree to them. If the club then is able to get a bonus of TPP relief for vets, then it should go to the betterment of the team and list.

You are correct but the new rule came into effect in october 2012 , But was known eaxactly what it was 12 months prior andwas debated here and on other sites at the time
