Noone is better than Wellsy! Wells will finish top 10 in the Brownlow this year. Tambling is a future superstar, but there is only one Daniel Wells.

I do luv the tigers becasue my friend barracks for them and I go to or watch almost every Richmond game each year. And because my friend is very connected at Richmond i go to his house for BBQs with the players and they are all great guys (although Tom Roach beat me at AFL Live on the PS2).

So although i will always be a rooboy i still like to think i have a little yellow and black in the blood. ;)

hey since u respect me under the respected thread thing can i come to one of your bbq's? lol! if tommy saw me he'd reckognise me! lol ive been to a few trainings and he along with a few other players sed they have recognized me! lol plz! u should be a full blooded tiger mate! :D

I think you will find Tambling has that black magic aspect to his game ie. Wells/Davey but Deledio from what I hear was very much a crowd favorite.

Of course Tambling is nothing compared to Wells, yet. Wells, in his few years has shown he is a potential superstar and already proved himself to be a gun.

However, people with no affliation to the Tigers have touted Tambling as the "best aboriginal player ever". Pretty big wraps for a bloke of 17/18. Myself, im not so optimisci but you have to at least accpet the kid could be in the very least as good as Wells.

Tambling will add some excitment in what will most likely be a pretty bleak year while Deledio i think will still be developing next year so next year Tambling afetr that Deledio

Unless Deledio puts on about 5kg before the Wizard Cup, i wouldn't want to see him play in it at all.

And as much as Wallace says he won't rush then new draftees, i think he will be forced to play one of either Tambling or Deledio.

Of the others, i think Pattison might be an outside chance, but he'd need to put on about 3-5kg.

Meyer, Polo, Mcguane and Limbach would need to put on weight West Coast Eagles circa early 90's style to play.

Are you suggesting they all get on the roids?

No, i'm just saying i severly doubt there bodies will fill out enough for them to play in the Wizard Cup.

Just to show how much muscle they'll have to put on.....

Meyer - 183cm, 70kg
Brown - 183cm, 80kg
Newman - 183cm, 84kg
Hyde - 184cm, 84kg

Pattison - 198cm, 90kg
Hall - 196cm, 97kg
Richardson - 196cm, 105kg
Knobel - 202cm, 102kg
Stafford - 203cm, 105kg

Polo - 187cm, 78kg
Deledio - 188cm, 81kg
Bowden - 188cm, 90kg
Campbell - 189cm, 88kg
Tuck - 188cm, 89kg

I'll do Limbach and McGuane later.

I don't think the wiz cup is such an issue....They tend not to go in as hard there as they do for the regular season, so smaller/lighter players can do relatively better than they would during the regular season. By round 1, then I don't think many of our first year players should start, and probably wont make much of an impression when they do. 1 or 2 weeks in the AFL, then back to Coburg...Could be a good year for the burgers :)

Disagree. Lids is mature enough in every area; body, skills, mental etc. to play game. 1

However I hope he doesnt play untill game 5 or so.

Pato is top age. 19 or so I beleive. I wouldnt be surpised to see him get games mid/late season.

Meyer wont play '05. His upper body is very small and I dont see it happening, nor the rest bar Polo. Polo looks like a toughnut and could surpise in this year.

I'm excited about both!!! You I just think that both these kids will be absolute superstars and hopefully will play out there great and glorious careers at Richmond. Go Tiges '05'

I dont think Hartigan was that big in 2004, and he played around 18 games?

Tom Roach played Wizard Cup and he was very light.

I suggest Dildo and Flash will both play Wizz Fizz

Flash will champ at the bit and jump out the blocks this year but Deledio will come up 2006 and make his move then. Its all good either way ;)

I have spoken to Tambling on a couple of occasions and he is tunnel visioned to succeed.Hes a leader and an unbelievable talent. IMHO he should have been number 1. I rate him higher than Wells.

2004 Mock Draft - Player Bio

Richard Tambling
Details:
Club: Southern Districts/Northern Territory
DOB: 12 September 1986 Hgt: 181cm Wgt: 74kg
Position: Onballer/Half forward flank
Natural Foot: Right

Honours:
AIS/AFL Academy 2001
Allan McLean Medal 2002 (best player in Division 2 of Under 16's Carnival)
Northern Territory 2002, 2003, 2004 (Captain)
H.G Harrison Medal 2004 (best player in Division 2 of Under 18's Carnival)
All Australian 2004
MVP of Northern Territory 2004
National Draft Camp 2004

Strengths: Tambling is football’s version of the Human Highlight Reel. An extremely exciting onballer and flanker, he has blistering pace and is capable of the extraordinary. He has the ability to tear a game apart with his brilliant skills, running and ability to kick impossible goals. He has a big leap on him and is very agile.

Tambling is a good leader and was captain of the NT side in the recent carnival. He works very hard defensively, his tackling and smothering is a real feature. His hands are extremely clean and he can be damaging at the stoppages.

Weaknesses: Only weighs 68kg and may take time to put on the bulk required to play at AFL level. Can tend to concentrate on winning the football and not his direct opponent.

Footydraft.com comment: This kid is truly a pleasure to watch. He is already been called the best Aboriginal player of all time, which I think is a bit over the top, but he is going to take the league by storm in time with his extraordinary ability.

i love the fact he will be good with his 1%ers. at least he can show the rest of the side what they are and how important they are in a game of footy.
