Dee-location?
The Mount Buller Demons could go under radical change this off-season, with new co-captain okeydoke7 refusing to rule out persistant relocation rumours. The Dees have been rumoured to be in talks with officials from San Diego and Dubai, both willing to pay millions for the Demons to relocate. It is believed that a change of location could coincide with a change of brand for a club with a diminished reputation. The Demons could even undergo an official name change, to signify a fresh start.
Okey confirmed that relocation had been discussed. "I can't rule it out. It is the off-season, I wont rule anything out. The Demons are looking to improve in every area. Saying we are just going to change everything about us is a far reach though. To be honest, relocation hasn't even been discussed with TigerGlory yet." It is believed that mount Buller have been offered international bases to become either the Dubai Demons, or the San Diego Saints. Okey said he would explore other options. "Yes, those are two places considering taking the Demons on, that doesn't mean those are our only options. Mount Buller has a proud traditional heritage which we would like to uphold, so all things will be weighed up in the future."
As for his own future, okey is undecided. "At the end of the day, I am a free agent right now. I cannot rule out a move. Yes, I have been approached by two clubs now. While the Hawks and Bombers have been building empires, I have also been impressed with the way the Dragons and Gumbies are rebuilding. They have excceeded my expectations in the off-season, whereas we still have a long way to go." The Herals Sun reported yesterday that Okey will only be the Demons captain throughout the off-season in an attempt to rebuild his ailing club, but Okey refused to comment. "I may pass it on, Everything will be looked at down the track. Sorry guys, i'm giving you nothing."
