Should I dismantle my old raid armour (so I can get to 31) or is there benefit in keeping it

You can keep one piece active and still be level 31 (30, 33, 33, 36. Light levels will get you to 31)

I've kept the boots (extra heavy) ammo.

I've been watching some of the solo'ing vids. Seems hunters are the crota master race. Can solo right up until crota if you're good enough!

Hunters are still the worst race in a team situation. Their kit is lackluster. Selfish pricks.

Very solo oriented. We have no support skills, I feel like there should be a way to provide the entire team with Chain of Woe/ gunslinger's trance, even if it means replacing golden gun (which I'd do during the raids)

Hunters also can't get that Armour/Recovery boost combo in their stats like other classes to they end up being more frail as a result.

I'd probably claim Titan's as the Crota Master Race. They have slam jam for the first section and can replenish their own health against Crota.

Keep it until you're definitely 31 & even then I'd be tempted to maybe keep the boots (extra heavy) & gloves (oracle/praetorian VoG perks) though if you're 31 it might not matter anyway.

Got boots from last nights bridge run which was good, Titan & Warlock are helium away from 31.

Hit 31 just solo'd the bridge and got the raid chest. Really regret not buying the exotic gloves from cur as I already have an exotic chest!

Helium is the only thing holding me back at the moment too. Literally. I already spent about 40 marks on them plus did an hour or two farming. I STILL need to blow about another 40 marks if I want to buy the rest, which is marks I can't spend on weapons

Depends if you're me or not...

I've done about 12 for seven legendary engrams and a legendary ship. Others have gotten jack shit in more.

With the updates to armor, worked well in that i just need to pump XP gear and exotic helmet got last night, and should to 30 pretty soon. Had to sacrifice my exotic chest..which by the way should I dismantle? Once I purchase a vendor chesty I should be set.

yeah, like last time raid gear is higher light level. It's equivalent to exotic.

Vendor gear: light max 33. 33 x 4 = 132 (Level 31)

Exotic and raid gear: light max 36. 36 x 4 = 144 (Level 32)

Is Ryz talking about old Raid gear or the new Raid gear.

Old VoG stuff is only 30 light and will be pretty redundant once you have 33/36 light armour upgraded.

Either or, thanks for the clarification. Lance explained it well. Have to curb my expectations on maxing levels, might curb upgrading on vendor gear then. Beats sitting like a gimp on 26/27.

So correct in saying old raid gear drops on VoG normal, making it pointless other than a group of experienced alts?
