Seems like everyone is having connection issues. Must be lucky mine has run like an absolute dream.

Would anyone be up for the Weekly Heroic mission? I've tried the matchmaking but never connect to other players for some reason.

Not surprised at all, I am also now convinced that the review copies were shipped late because they didn't want the reviews to ruin the sales of the game.

The single player campaign is amongst one of the worst I have played for a while. It's so disjointed and doesn't flow at all and it just has a real shallow feeling to it.

Does anyone know the settings that allow all members of a fireteam today chatting with headsets?

This is afternoon I was playing with freofan_mundy and a friend of mine - I was the fireteam leader and I could hear both of them and hear me but they couldn't hear each other?

This was on a PS4.

Sometimes you need to re-plug your mic or make sure the mic level is high in Playstation Menu > Settings > Devices > Audio Devices > Microphone Level.

If everything is fine, just start a Party in the Playstation Menu. Always reliable.

As per usual with the reviews, they're full of idiots judging the game based on the hype & expectation it received, rather than on it's own merits. Most of these outlets rated Infamous Second Son higher, which completely dissolves their credibility.

It's obvious Bungie's plan is to give the game a long lifespan, so they were never going to release the full package all on launch. As with all MMOs, it'll get a lot better.

In my opinion from a single player story-telling point of view Second Son absolutely shits on this. Don't get me wrong Infamous had it's fair share of issues, but at least Second Son actually had some continuity and was somewhat immersive. Destiny, however, just feels like a whole load of random levels just tacked together. The whole experience feels shallow because there is no sense of actually being in a world or any continuity at all in the game, all the game feels like is choose a mission from your ship, complete it and then choose another.

As for the game having a long lifespan, the problem ultimately for Bungie is that you don't get a second opportunity to make a first impression. Personally I don't think it's going to matter what Bungie adds down the track, the general consensus with gamers is that Destiny sucks so I honestly think this game will be more or less done and dusted by gamers once COD, Halo Masterchief Collection and Battlefield hit in 6 weeks time and I can't see people coming back.

OR maybe they just dont like it.

In all honesty, it is hard to disagree with much of what is being said there. Point for point anyway (can't talk about the Crucible stuff as I am yet to touch it).

However, it hasn't stopped me having a shitload of fun with this game and seeing a huge amount of potential for the future with this franchise. And I wouldn't be giving it that sort of score at the end either.

I don't really get the arguments for and against it with regards to the 'MMO' aspect, as this really isn't an MMO. It has MMO tropes and design, but the only point this is 'Massively Online' is when you're at the Tower at which point you barely have an ounce of interaction with others in that area. Any other point in the game, story or competitive, is more just a glancing blow of online interactivity. People drop in and out before you've even noticed them. So I don't really buy the "It's an MMO so why wouldn't it be repetitive". But I also don't buy the knocks on it due to it not being enough of an MMO as I don't believe the game is truly trying to breach that area of the genre. The mission structure is very repetitious with regards to sending your ghost to hack something for a few minutes while hoards of enemies come in towards you, it gets old pretty fast. There's definitely the sense of deja vu quite a lot as well with the areas with regards to re-treading what you've just gone and done. I can't help but feel there is a way to change that up without losing the sandbox nature of the environments though.

The story is wafer thin, disappointingly so as it does feel there could be something much larger at play. There is also a lacking amount of loot, I know it's not Borderlands, but Borderlands loot system was just fantastic and made you always on the lookout for crates and really got you exploring the environments. Destiny doesn't feel like there's any incentive to explore what are very well made environments.

The positives for me are that the game is mechanically brilliant. Pitch perfect controls and shooting. And there is significant challenge whenever you go on a mission, it's always fun and interesting. I don't know if I've ever had a game give me the same satisfaction from finishing off a boss as I have with this game. They just do the conflict and resolution, so damn well.

There's a lot of potential if they clean up some aspects here and there. Offer up more variety with the mission structure (getting rid of Ghost and expanding would probably be the ideal outcome in the end here) and throw up some more and varied loot with deeper systems attached then I will be well up for sticking with this for a long time. Right now, I don't know if I'll go much further beyond the story/side missions (as PvP doesn't interest me in the slightest - and I don't tend to be one to replay missions) but I am really enjoying what this game has to offer right now despite some flaws.
