After weeks of checking the stats of every blue and green weapon I've picked up I've finally got me a shoot to loot scout rifle. Mitternacht SR3, looks good. Fire rate sufficient enough to get the ammo x2.

I think of all the hundreds of weapons I've just brazenly dismantled over the journey without ever once checking the stats for anything like 'shoot to loot' and I feel the tiniest bit of regret. But not heaps.

I had a legendary scout rifle with the shoot to loot perk. Was quite handy when doing oracles and such in VoG. Then I dismantled it.

But you know what? It was alright but not really needed.

They aren't needed, for sure. But they are useful more than just out of reach ammo. With the heavy ammo bug they are pretty amazing given instead of picking up a purple you can quickly flick over to your StL and shoot it twice thus doubling your yield.
