I've just had the same disc sitting in the PS4 for months and have always chosen physical copies of games over digital anyway so what would this mean for me? I have to buy the new disc and just use it to replace the one currently in my console? Is that it or some sort of transfer involved?

You can buy just the DLC for $69.95 or you can buy the disc version that comes with the new content + everything you purchased previously for probably around the same price on launch via Target/JB/Big W.

That's an utterly ridiculous price for DLC. I don't think I paid that much for the game. They've got a bit of convincing me to do before I jump back on at that price. Not sure I'm motivated enough to pay full price again.

I'll get it because I'm a tragic, but I do want to see how much we are getting for it. It needs to be something approaching the original game's content IMO.

Otherwise they're setting a dangerous precedent, because there will still be another $40 DLC pack to follow similar to TDB+HOW combo we had this year.

Yeah, I agree on the content. If it's essentially one new subclass for each class, a slight level cap increase, a few story missions, a strike, a raid and a few new PvP elements there's just not enough there for me to justify it. And gimmicks like new dances and emotes are certainly not going to convince me. I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for, but something more than the stock standard DLC drop for me to jump at a $70 asking price.

Not writing it off - but they'd want to be justifying the price with some serious content. Given Activision's history though, I'm a bit more pessimistic than I would be otherwise.

Second season pass already confirmed btw.

Also, when The Taken King drops make sure you run through all the new maps backwards to prepare for the third and fourth dlc's strikes.
 
Apparently 40 bucks for those who own previous DLC?

Understand the price point of 70 for the whole lot, and while 40 bucks isnt super for DLC that doesn't seem too bad.

The CE being EB/GameStop exclusive is lame though. Like the Pipboy still a good 20% more than it should be.

The extra content between what you would get for TK alone and the full CE isnt so much a money issue but to me is the FU to the hardcore players. Stuff like Shaders/emblems is small digital stuff and should be across the board.

I dun give a **** what it costs. I ponied up $40 to watch the Dees lose in the last 40 seconds at Etihad this week. I'll quite happily spend double that for something that gives me months of pleasure as opposed to one night of shame and loathing, which I expected and was still happy to pay for. People'd spend $70 on a meal or a night out, say six hours, and then moan to pay that for a game they spend 200 hours playing. Leaves me mystified

Too right!

I checked today how much I've played since launch... I've played a few minutes shy of 28 days - pretty decent value for entertainment if you ask me!
