Can anyone tell me what they think of Mark Wittisons performances for fawkner park - has been kicking a few goals
he was drafted onto the rookie list in 2000 to st kilda and hes playing div 2 football - does anyone know why

He kicked 6 last weekend but has only kicked 27 goals for the year. He has been injured a lot and with him in the side they may have snuck over the line a couple of times. He is a sensational kick, regularly kicking goals from CHF or further out. From my limited times in seeing him he does not appear to work too hard and does not seem really fit. The fitness may be due to the hamstring problems he has had.

As to why he is playing in div 2, I believe he works with one of the FP players and also has not played at all the last couple of years

If Heidelberg decide to leave, their choice – good bye. The Bloods stay in Div 1, we promote 1st, 2nd & 3rd from Div 2 and make it 12 teams in Div 1. We go from a top 4 to a top 6 Finals System. We incorporate a staggered draw, the same that is currently in place in Div 2, where the higher you finish the harder the draw you have next season. We get more footy finals, better revenues, more players playing finals, more happy supporters. Great for the game. That would mean sides like Diamond Creek, West Preston would get the opportunity to play finals this year in Div 1. All of a sudden every side in Div 1 has a chance of winning 6 or 7 games and are not just playing for relegation stakes but a chance for finals.

So a side could win 6 games or 7 games and still make finals, That is only rewarding mediocre performances for a club.

Who the hell Is Matt Domaingue or is this neutral observer talking himself up and again lower plenty.Please i am begging someone to comment on the standard and state of diamond valley.Not lower plenty or some other stroker that no ones even heard of.If lower plenty are any good they would be in 1st Div and they wont be in 1st div for at least 10 years.

Again interesting banter.The DValley have a few problems at the moment and it will be interesting to see how they handle Nth v Diamo incident.I have an idea.Lets get a bloke from Nth Heid on the investigation committee to investigate Nth Heid and give the player a reprimand as they have done on three seperate occasions so far.The DV circus is just getting better and better and Floyd the ringleader goes round and tries to cover **** up instead of fixing it.The valley is slowly sinking and sick of reading or hearing the same s*** about the same clubs and incidents that riddle this league.Stop jacking off in cyber space everyone and make some realistic solutions to fix the once premier league.

I don't think you will find anyone on this thread that does not agree that the Diamond Valley is run by incompetents, and that the standard across the comp has dropped in recent years .... However it a bit unrealistic calling bigfooty users to arms in attempt to change things.

The clubs have to take some responsibility - and have to work towards turning the league around.... Obviously sooner rather than later we need a credible investigation committee that is INDEPENDENT..

An effort should be made to convince Heidelberg to stay (seems that horse may have already bolted)

Obviously Lloyd has to go.

That would be a start... I don't disagree with much of what u say. But I am interested - Are you affiliated with a club? Are you involved in any level towards making a change?

It was mature of you to resort to bagging somone based on physical apearance as well, you've done well and shown your true colours.

As for any reputaion that our respective clubs are gaining or already have for that matter, I think that the one you have bestowed upon Eltham is the one used by meatheads like yourself to feel tough. Lalors reputation is and has been well deserved for years and that is of a club that despite having some great footballers and good teams over the years has always relied on thug tactics to get them over the line. It is your clubs defining characteristic.

Football is a physical sport and most of what happens on the field should stay there but there are certain incidents that occur from time to time ( or in Lalors history, a little more than that) that I would have no regrets in "squeeling" till the cows come home. I do not play for Eltham but I support anyone who tells the truth in regards to serious on feild incidents that are occuring all to frequently in the DVFL. If more action was taken by both players and officials in this league regarding violent on field incidents, then things would be in better shape than they are today.

After saying all that i do actually think that much of what you say on this forum is valid and entertaining to read, just not when it comes to the Lalor FC!

Stop all this **** about three divisions.Lets get rid of the rabble that lingers in second division ,stop letting more clubs in before we end up at boonie doon and get rid of the smurfs that run this comp.Someone stand up and take control .The Valley used to be big and exciting now it is full of people whinging and saying how we dont have the money to compete.that is lot of **** and people or clubs use it as an excuse.I agree promote 19,s footy but maybe change it to 18,s becuase if you are any good and have a go most 19,s should be playing seniors.This league needs some help and there are some good ideas around but most are to busy Talking themselves up on this thread.

Yes GYTM , Josh does live some distance away from the spiritual homeland, but He makes every effort to get to as many Panther games as possible.

And I believe that Leroy is estatic that someone as influential and high faluting as yourself, even knows who he is .

I think you will find that the drop off in DVFL is in direct correlation to the $ available. At the time Northcote Park had an almost unlimited supply of funds from their pokies venue and as a result were able to recruit "name" players.

With the exception of Heidelberg (Barrett), Bundoora (New rooms and strong supporter base) and Montmorency (?) I think the rest of the clubs are struggling financially and not in a position to buy players.

As a result the standard has slipped.

"Power" clubs in other Metro leagues and particularly the country leagues have raised the prices of players to a point where it is not viable for most clubs to consider.

The game is full of give up's these days what happened to the old days where blokes turned a blind eye. When lalor played eltham in the 2's last week an eltham player came off a bit worse for wear after after an incident with lalor player. Eltham laged him in to the invetigastion and he got 4. Where have all the staunch blokes gone? A give up in my eyes is in the same boat as a pedophile. im sure you would agree gytm, give ups are the dog rat scum of the earth

He came up through the juniors, and managed to play some senior games, but never really consolidated a spot there, spending more time in the 2's. Quiet fella, who never talked/instructed on the field. Despite having potential, far from the best backmen in the Diamond Valley. Hasn't been sighted for years. Not sure if he's playing elsewhere??? He (or someone else on his behalf) is obviously just taking the **** with those comments!!!

Great source has informed me that North have submitted a letter to the DVFL complaining of 4 incidents in the game from the weekend and are askin for the dvfl to investigate them......

funny they weren't the team with three players in hospital....

here's the funny bit..... north have requested extra security at the tribunal cause they are 'SCARED' for the safety of their players etc....... nice smoke screen....

Ok this story comes from a very reliable diamo source apprantly the diamond creek player was running around snibing blokes all day the siren sounded he went to shake the hand of one of the blokes he had snibed earlier the North player just went bang knocked his two front teeth out the DC player started screaming get me a weapon get me a weapon he ran into the rooms and grabbed a stick of some sort then come back out threatning to use it the north players were in the rooms singing there song. he was restrained by dc players and taken into the rooms where he was screaming i know where you live . Then after all this tough talk called the police and wanted to press charges . i think this one is one of the all time classics HE WHO LIVES BY THE SWORD SHALL DIE BY THE SWORD from what i have heard from my source it was a bad thing that happened but he could ve prevented it but why get police involved you wont be any better off he ll probably get a fine thats about it If someone knocked my teeth out i know what id be doing and it would nt be through legal channels no one ever wins

Summed up beautifully, if the player gets his own way and hits the player with the stick does he still ring the police?..............l dont think so, so in the end just like on the feild he got his own way all day and when he didnt he had a sook, im sure the player from Nth didnt mean to inflict that much damage and was probably shocked himself and if the hits face to face then its not a sneak go. If the punch didnt inflict so much damage people would have said oh well he deserved it but cause the punch did so much damage its made a bigger deal. If hes running around saying l know where you live thats worse than hitting someone face to face he could have a family and kids or parents there and that the lowest of lows to go to someones house

Yes I am with a first division club and played and seen alot of senior football.Could be involved in making changes but seeing peoples response first, before attacking.You would be surprised how many people read this so it is a very good tool to get things happening and views of clubs across the board.
Maybe Heidelberg might stay if things changed but from what i here the DV has not approached them at all so for the benefit of all clubs maybe its time to rattle the DV cage before another club thinks about going.If you run a business and one of your major clients pulls out alarm bells would ring.I dare anybody to give one positive thing the DV have done in the last 10 years.Totally agree with an independent committee to investigate the DV and i am sure we will see how professional they go about tonights investigation.Joke
