Will other clubs follow our lead with the hard tackling, after watching last nights game, the Aints put the hard tackles into the Crows and came out on top. We set the bench mark for this with our round 1 performance, how many other teams will adapt this style of play?

No, we didn't. Every team knows how to tackle but it is hard to implement a game plan that has tackling at its core.

We can set the benchmark with the tackling but only if we keep that effort up consistently.

lol you guys think think you're ****ing awesome now.

No. We all think you are a ****ing moron.

The Crows set the benchmark last night again for dull, ultraflooding, ultraboring rubbish football. It was a truely painful spectacle. The AFL need to consider blocking these games from FTA TV because of the damage they do to our great game. :)

Tell me how many times our players held the ball in the air and proceeded to play keepies off in the back 50?

I like our game plan more this year. We are more attacking but last night we were just shut down due to the Saints awesome pressure and players behind the ball (zone). So yeah it wasn't all that pretty to watch.

I honestly thought I replied to this thread in Bay 13. Was it moved? In all seriousness I know the majority of you aren't getting carried away but geez there are some cocky mother****ers in your camp.

Rather than flame your sorry ass, I'll suggest you take a walk in our shoes since 2001. We're done with the cap in hand shit.

Interesting point.

Round 9 2008 tackles: Collingwood 85 Geelong 49; Score: 134 to 48
Round 1 2009 tackles: Carlton 82 Richmond 54; Score: 150 to 67
Round 2 2009 tackles: St Kilda 88 Adelaide 56; Score: 101 to 69

But as others have said, tackling pressure is hardly revolutionary to the game.

To pull off a dominant display such as these requires the physical strength to make the tackles stick (and hurt), the mental strength to apply this pressure for four quarters and the fitness to be able to.

So if one person says something, we ALL say it, right? :o

Monkey see, monkey do.

Crows have been playing ultraflooding rubbish for at least half a decade now. They use these tactics and sport science techniques to offset a lack of list talent compared to other top-8 sides. Effective but dead dull, and terrible to watch. Watched as much of last nights game as I could tolerate. Pathetic rubbish, and I feel sorry for the Crows members that are forced to sit through that junk. Many of the Crows passages of play last night were a complete joke i.e. about 10 sideways, backwards handballs before a fluffed kick. It's all about pushing massive numbers behind the ball and avoiding contested footy, and achieving some stupid KPI stat. So glad the Blues don't play that style of footy. :)
