Didak back round 1!

Bloody Oath he will be back for Round 1:eek:

Good news, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too soon. He is returning from a (knee) reconstruction, which normally takes 12 months to recover from and get back on the field. We should be a bit more patient and wary, as he will be better for the exteded period on the sidelines than getting rushed into the side for Round 1.

Honestly? Whats the point?
Maybe give him a quarter or a half in the Williamstown Reserves to test his versatility and twisting in the packs, but thats about it.

Didak is a match winner, so he may be some value in the Round 1 side, however, with Paul Medhurst and Leon Davis returning to the side, along with Dale Thomas, he can be covered for the first two weeks if it was the best interest.

Doesn't say a lot, but is of interest that I saw him walking without crutches the day after the brownlow: not too long at all after the reco. Compared to a regular/complete reco, this shows that he was in a far better way following it, so a vastly more rapid recovery is to be expected.
This news doesn't suprise me too much at all; looking forward to seeing him in action again with a 100% capacity!! :D

One of the surgeons at my hospital allows patients to walk without crutches a couple of days after an anterior cruciate reconstruction. I don't think that's any real indication, unfortunately.

id like to see him play rnd 3 the earliest...round 1 is too soon i think...rather be cautious and let him come in later....there is no rush...its not like we have no other options

I'd expect him to not be rushed in, so I would expect Williamstown would be where he would be for a couple of games, it's good to hear he is ready to start playing again.

Geoff Walsh has said he expects Didak to play round 1 for either Williamstown or Collingwood, as he has been getting through the main training sessions very good news.

Go pies!! our chances are looking up already
\

He won,t play round one for the pies or willy ,if Micky Mouse from disneyland has any brains for our our football club. they should wait until he does all his twists and turns without any discomfort.

I think you're all forgetting who you're talking about. Didak could have played as good as most in the AFL a day after the operation. He's abnormally talented and freakily gifted and he's Alan Didak. A footy genius/god. Dare i say biggger then jesus? Or is that blasphemous? Good times. ;)

Didak is about as important to our future as anyone. If he’s ready I’d give him another fortnight and then ease him into the second half of a game for Willi. Playing Didak in the first month won’t achieve much. We are either good enough to make the finals or we aren’t and a month of an underdone Didak won’t change that.

If you have ever had i reco let me say this its not the reco itself but the doubt in your mind... is it going to stand up and can i do what i used to do. The cfc will not allow him to play unless they are confident that he and the medical staff are convinced that he has recovered fully.

My believe is a lot of players comeing back from a reco are just a fraction worried about the turning and twisting so do not really get back to full potential for some time and in a way they are protecting the reco as they play. What worries me is Dids isnt the type of guy to die wondering and he will give it 100% on day 1 and this will only end in tears. So lets hope we dont see him until at least round 4 or 5. Then he will be fully recovered and can help us into the finals

Some players come back well from a injury, others take some time depending on how long they have been off and the extent of the injury.

I think if he can play the normal amount of time then he should play in the seniors, if there is doubt about him going for four quarters it would probably be in the club's best interest to pick a side that can run out the entire game.

If he is only good for a quarter or a half and someone else goes down hurt then it could cost the game if you don't have the players to run out the game.

I hope is fit and ready though, nobody wants to go see B sides play. At the end of the day though you don't really want to risk him missing a lot of football if he injuries himself due to rushing back a few weeks early.
