Wow...you've just shown a few photos after the bump!

Where's the actual bump which would show the true intention of the bump (which was fair)??

Here's one for you photo-troll!

Didak's guilty for raising the arm after he put in a fair hip and shoulder. Goes to show how stupid some members of this board really are!

...and arm naturally rises after a bump. Good post FIGJAM.

I know West Coast have been a bit fortunate as well with Kerr and Waters but at least with those incidents it was a lowering of a suspension

I just saw the incendent on TV for the first time and

Unbelievable

With that decision you can expect to see players going down like ninepins in the finals since the sacrimony of the head appears to have gone by the wayside. Just tuck your elbow in and go for high contact and you will be fine

So it wasn't accidental then? The defence rests, your worship.

The bump was deliberate. Do you people even listen to the reason for him getting off?

They found that the contact was accidental, and was a result of Scotland turning into the bump, rather than Didak raising his elbow and aiming for the head. The bump was deliberate, the result was accidental, and because Scotland turned into it...unavoidable.

I get it now. It was accidental, deliberate contact. As clear as mud now. It is about as logical as the recession we had to have.

I hate Collingwood as much as anyone, but I think everyone is confusing the issue here.

Should Didak have been suspended?

No.

Should Didak have been suspended based on the decisions of the tribunal this year?

Yes.

I see no difference to this and what Roo got a week for - the difference is the guy Roo hit was falling down, causing contact with his head. Roo also got a week for the exact same thing on Selwood last year. It's ****ing bull****.

Didak shouldn't have been suspended, but neither should have Roo.

Nothing wrong with putting a hit on like that, but you can't punish a player for trying to lay on a good bump, and a bit of bad luck causing it to be high - assuming it isn't malicious or intentional.

Further, what about the other decisions?

The Geelong shirt front. How is that shirtfront not a week, when Hall got a week for just being a big clumsy bastard?

Bannister getting a week for a ****y little jumper punch Holland? That shouldn't even be a report.

The tribunal / match review panel is completely and utterly ****ed.

They need to get rid of it and start again, this new points system has been completely **** since it started.

The bump was deliberate. If you don't get the fact that accidental injury can arise out of a deliberate bump you are a moron.

He legitmately bumped Scotland. Get over it.

Good point. The reason I am annoyed is not because I think what Didak did was or should be illegal, but because it further increases my frustration at previous decisions.

taking the emotion and hysterics out of it, the most sensible overview of the whole situation.

Didak is collingwood's most important player. forget Buckley - didak is more important.

My hasn't Didak come along way! I remember it wasn't that long ago when people on this site were calling him "Dudak" saying that he was no good and that it was laughable that Collingwood refused to trade him for that champion N.Stevens.

Now supporters from other clubs realise what Magpie followers have known for a long time; Didak is an excellent player!!!

Who gives a **** wat club he is from, what he did was absolutely disgusting and deserved to be rubbed out for atleast 2. it is an absolute disgrace that he got cleared of anything, he almost killed scotland and they deemed it accidental IS THE MATCH REVIEW PANEL F****** BLIND. Bannister's crappy little jumper punch added up to a 3 match ban but because of clean record got taken down to 1 and didak got nothing. I am absolutely appalled with that descision. Ofcourse Collingwodd player gets off with nothing!

Have a cry you sook. Go and watch netball. That WAS a perfect hip and shoulder get over it. Nothing illegal about it and the match review commitee says so. Kleenex anyone.

My aren't the vast majority on here devastated that they couldn't hang another Collingwood player out to dry.

The difference here is that Didak was trying to impact the player, the others were in a contest for the ball. If you try and fail, then you wear the consequences, that is what usually happens ... usually.

Fevola was done this year for making accidental contact with Kirk's head, he even tried to soften the impact as he realised Kirk wasn't going to get to his feet. The feeling was that he stuffed up his challenge and deserved a week. Didak too stuffed up his challenge. He intended to lay that bump from a long way away (relatively speaking) which gave him no room for error or change in circumstance. Fevola intended to challenge from a long way away also but the match review panel decided that he should have avoided the contact. Kirk was pretty much unhurt in the incident too but they got Fev because he had the potential to cause injury.

It just doesn't add up and on top of Goldspink's grandstanding and retaliators getting done while perpetrators got away with it, it just caps it all off nicely. Bottom teams nearly always get screwed (not just Carlton). I wonder how they are supposed to rise again when they don't have protected species in their sides?
seems pretty clear cut to me

instances when a player has his head down picking up the ball and a player gets him front on, with the chance that neck damage may result is what the AFL are trying to outlaw, hence suspensions for fev, r.hall, bartel etc.

but didak simpll delivered a bone crunching hip & shoulder, scotland wasn't bending down picking the ball up, he even had time to attempt to avoid contact

just like gazza a few weeks before for his bump on wirra, if the main intention is to make strong body contact it seems u are allowed to bump.........but if u run straight into a blokes head when it is over the ball and spinal injury may occur they throw the book at the player.

by the way when gia bumped kosi, kosi didn't have the ball, wasn't aware that a hit was coming and was out of the game for months

scotland had the ball, saw didak coming but couldn't get out of the way and played well in the second half

think people need to remember that a big hip & shoulder is something that makes AFL so special when compared to other codes such as soccer etc!!

common sense prevailed and the bump will still remain part of the AFL game like most people want it to.

You weren't at the game yesterday then. It was clearly an elbow thrown no doubt.

Were you? obviously you weren't. I've read your idiotic posts all night on this issue. Your 800 k's away living in idiot town. Have VCR's arrived in South Australia as yet?

There was no elbow, get it, no elbow thrown. His face connected with his upper arm that was tucked in. It is also argued that the nose injury came from him hitting the ground.

Geez mate you gonna be able to sleep ok tonight? Take some medication.

I personally love the inconsistent behaviour of the MRP. Adds extra drama & creates another talking point during down times in the office. Now if they can only somehow make cricket a contact sport we'd be laughing !
