Why would you say that, no love for Ormond mate, doesn't mean you have to be a smartarse about it.

Bedford been a couple of years but back to the Friars rooms next week. Hope you can enjoy a beer or 2 after the game! Looking forward to a tough tussle with the Monders sure to be seethng after this weeks loss!

Can someone from Willy please explain what is going on over there. They have been a remarkbly strong and competitive unit over the last few seasons and from pre-season reports it sounded like they were on a cake walk through D1.

Whats going on?

Thats the Million Dollar question !!!

I think its a combination of a lot of things..

The change of coach and the players trying to adapt to a new game plan / slyle.

Loss of a couple of top quality players mainly Wongy (65 goals 2011) & Chicken Elliott (18 goals 2011) and a couple of others as well.

Injuries have been cruel to CY`s this season, after having basically a full list to choose from at round 1. we find ourselves at round 5 winless and without 7 or 8 regular senior players out injured, some including our 2011 B&F winner out for the season with an ACL, most of the others have long term injuries. Last week we finished the game with only 16 men on the field.

Confidence.. has just been sapped from the group after the 4 drubbings we have recieved so far..

But.. I believe we are only 1 or 2 wins away from being able to turn it around, not saying we will be able to match it with the top end, but if we can get some confidence and some players back we get out of the relegation zone.

The live scores show a great win by Ormond over Whitefriars at Donvale.
The monders slammed on 4 goals before the friars could respond and then hung on for a well deserved 5 point win.
Other games went as expected but the Willy vs MHSOB game was not shown.
Any reports on the result of this game?

Watched Friars v Ormond today and just can't for the life of me work out how Ormond could have lost to St Johns they were unbelievable today! Their pace, clean handling and forward targets, Bailey incredible in 1st quarter. Admittedly they ran out of legs in 2nd half but their 1st half was by far the best team performance I have seen this year including the Pirates.

Bedford or someone please explain or we may need to call for the stewards??

All in the mind Jack, thought they were going to pump St Johns.
Bailey kicked 6 in the 1st quarter ! Great effort as we have some quality players out injured at the minute. Very cold beer after the game at 4 bucks still The ground was outstanding for footy, but a new scoreboard with bigger numbers is badly needed.

What a cracker Round 7 is shaping up to be. This round should really start to sort the men from the boys.

Round 7 Tips:

Old Geelong by 7pts
Glen Eira by 36pts
Peninsula by 27pts
MHSOB by 11pts
Whitefriars by 2pts

Ormond had a real crack at the Pirates all day only going down by 18 points, although Peninsula were highly inaccurate with 30 shots to 17.
Willy got up for their first win by 21pts over Glen Eira.
And the Friars went down in another close one at home by 2pts to NOBs.

Wash-up from yesterday:
1. Great win by the Willy boys yesterday in a shoot-out! Huge game v Ormond next week.
2. Are NOBs and Old Geel the real deal?
3. MHS win three in a row.
4. Big question from yesterday...what's going on at Whitefriars? Two close losses at home, now in 6th place. Can't believe it after their destruction of us out there in rd 2.

Round 8 Tips:
NOBs to defeat Glen Eira
Ormond to defeat Williamstown
Old Mentonians to defeat MHSOB
Peninsula to defeat Old Geelong in the match of the round.
Whitefriars to defeat St Johns
