The highlight for me looking at those results is Nunawading's win in the 2's and the improvement in the club despite their 1's loss today. The lowlight will be East Burwood will dominate this grade and personally I can see them going through the season un beaten."BUT" only early days, lol.
They couldn't win a game a few years ago and have bounced back. I can only see that as a positive. Next few games will see how the Real Rams stack up.

Next week is Kilsyth v Croydon Nth.
Nunawading play Croydon Nth in Round 7 and their best chance of another win.

Its hard to tell right now, it looks like they have had an easy run so far. They have only played 2 sides, neither will play finals this year. Forest Hill aren't anything like they used to be by the looks of it and its a bad sign when their 2's are losing. I think from memory East Burwood started 8-0 last year and were 2 or 3 games clear on top at one stage and everyone was saying the same thing. If Fairpark were to beat Forest Hill convincingly this week coming then there is something to line up against, if Fairpark lose then East Burwood are probably streets ahead

But I'm still liking the look of Coldstream early, especially if the finals end up being on a big ground like Ringwood or Glen Waverley.

The other team is Silvan who could have beaten Fairpark and Coldstream but kicked themselves out of both games, i think they will be up there still and they will have their first win against Nunawading this week.

Surrey Park are already up against it because they have lost to both Coldstream and Fairpark, they have East Burwood this week and need to beat them to keep in touch.

By the end of round 5 we will all have a better understanding of how things might finish. Round 4, EB play Surrey Park and FH and Fairpark meet and there is also the battle between Kilsyth and Croydon Nth. Round 5 is EB v Coldstream and Silvan v Forest Hills. EB and Fairpark don't meet until round 9.
A big finals ground would suit EB.

EFL 2019: Adrian Gileno kicks 16 goals in East Burwood’s 213-point win over Kilsyth

Adrian Gileno kicked 16 goals in East Burwood’s 213-point win over Kilsyth on Saturday.
But Rams coach Stuart Wynd may have robbed him of another handful.
“He was on the bench for the first six minutes of every quarter,” Wynd said.
“He hadn’t trained for a few weeks — he’d been overseas so I started him on the bench for the first six minutes of every quarter so he missed 24 minutes of game.
“There’s no doubt he would have kicked 20-plus I reckon.”
Wynd himself knows a few things about bags of goals — he kicked 19 in a Division 1 game in the early 2000s.

Gileno had seven goals by the main change and added another nine in the second half to kick the biggest bag in the Eastern Football League since Matthew Carnelley’s 24 against Nunawading in 2016.
Kilsyth’s only goal for the game came in the last quarter as East Burwood recorded its second 100-plus-point victory in as many games.
The 34.20 (224) to 1.5 (11) win continued to confirm pre-season suspicions the Rams would be the team to beat in Division 4 this year.
Its two wins this year have been by a combined 329 points, sitting atop the ladder with a percentage of 883.
East Burwood bolstered its midfield stocks with the addition of former players Matthew and Anthony Mariani over the summer, while Wynd noted Vermont junior Lewis Neate provided some strength to the spine at centre half-forward.

Wynd acknowledged expectations were growing on the club, which is striving for its first premiership since the 2000 Division 1 flag.
“There’s expectation for sure, more so from the supporters more than anything,” he said.
“We had a really good pre-season. We’re very fit, we’ve had 50 on the track every night and they’re hungry.
“Even the new guys that have come in are really hungry and looking for opportunities so there is certainly some competitiveness around the group
“The reserves are pretty strong — there are guys pushing up and the competition for spots is certainly pretty high.”

Big game next week EB v Coldstream. I'm picking the Rams.

You have surprised me with that prediction Cliff, lol.EB will not lose a game.this season.I saw the first 3 quarters of Nunawading v Silvan today and good to see the improvement in the Lions but still a long way to go when playing the top sides.Perhaps you should correct the Kilsyth by 8 points, they won by 38 points.EB U19's a loss today to.

I will go out on a limb and predict that we will beat the woolly jumpers the week after as well.

Despite the scoreline the Rams dominated. A very physical game and Coldstream losing a player early on with a broken collar bone didn't help.

I have to say I didn't see it like that. Coldstream played well and kept coming back. It was only over the last 10 min that EB forged ahead.
They kicked straight and we didn't.

29 scoring shots to 12. The Rams had every answer when challenged, yes they kicked straight. I say the scoreboard flattered them and yes we saw it differently.

It seems the top 4 is almost set. I am a fan of Coldstream but i worry about their depth as their 2s aren't going so well. If they stay relatively fit then i think they will be the 2nd side still.

Fairpark haven't really played anyone yet and looked lucky against Silvan but i cant see them missing the 4 as they have easily disposed of Surrey Park and Forest Hill and banked that important win against Silvan.

East Burwood should finish on top and their 2s are flying also. Shows they have depth to cover.

Silvan will surely make it. Their form is good against other top 4 sides and they are smashing those below them.

Surrey Park might be the 5th team ready to pounce if someone falters.

It will be interesting to see if Dylan Agnew can get a game in the ones after two 9 goal games in the twos. A very solid looking boy.

Been wondering about this. Surely a senior player in division 5. Maybe this week?

^^I agree. Have to be fair, East Burwood reserves could be a second second senior team.

He will play, the Rams are in a conundrum they haven't been in for a long time. Massive depth and the balance they need to achieve. Guys playing in the twos that are good enough to play in the seniors but the seniors are playing well and who do your drop? A few injuries this week will help with the team selection nightmare. Good position to be in and as I stated earlier, one that they have not been in for a long time.

Sounds likely to come into the side then!

They are not the first club and won't be the last. Have they found a President yet?

I’m not sure mate, I’ve been living in Queensland for the passed 25 years and have recently come home to this.

I would love to help out but I live on the west side of Melbourne now.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it.
