I don't want to see your anal beads.

Ironically said by people who have no problem with other people negatively gearing three properties to the ****.

Their reckoning is not far away.
You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. This whole thread is because you erroneously thought the government was handing out free SR5s and XLTs but instead of doing some research and fact checking yourself, you're screeching about the ignominy of tradies having it easier than you.You could simply pay for your transport like everyone else. If you need a ute buy it privately, pay for your own fuel. Puts you in the same boat as practically everyone else. You can get a logbook to deduct wear and tear but that should be about it.
It's stealing from PAYG income earners. Either allow them to deduct their work related expenses or neither group does.

Driving to and from work is not tax deductible for any vehicle, private or business owned. The only exception to that rule is if the vehicle is owned and registered to a business and it has been declared as not having any private driving at all and must be submitted with a log book and fuel card. You can actually google this and check for yourself. The only kilometers counted as tax deductible are when driving as a requirement of your employment. There is no advantage within the tax system over people who do not have a company car whatsoever.
And yes, both groups are able to deduct their work related expenses. Feel free to put the ajax and your mop on your tax return this year, hope you kept the receipts.
That sounds a lot more reasonable. However I've bolded what I've noticed with my neighbour and others throughout my life. Most of them claim the car as both business and private, my neighbour for example claimed a company car for his stay at home housewife who was "company director". He silicones windows inherited his business bought holden grange and BMW 7 series (both with personalized number plates of his company). Absolute blight on society. His wife never took a call let alone got out of the swimming pool. That's an example of what I'd assume a pure private car (company plates) being claimed as a pure company car.
The fact is the way the current laws are setup they can be exploited. There's no such thing as a work car when it's a family business. A taxi yes but your avg bloke next door his cars are claimed 80/20 commercial/private and not used even remotely honestly. With transport costs I've noticed my tradie mates dad have a "barter card" or fuelcard. He told me flat out the company pays for the fuel, it goes on the companies acc or whatever. We even went ruddy dirt biking on it lol. He used it everytime we were out to fill up lol his new ute (bought on the business).
"Rich director has company car"Classic case of envy and jealousy.

I honestly wouldn't expect any less from tradesman. When you can buy your housewife a German made runaround against your company you're a blight on Australia.

Exactly. That's why I'd suggest and AU-BF Ford ute. More reliable than the mentioned fake 4wd's. It comes down to short people or people with small penises putting a black hole in the budget with their small needs that are 2.5inch lift kits and buying these big fake American 4wd's that can't even go off a gravel rd.
Anytime I see one I think small penis. When I see the bloke in the AU ute I assume big penis or penis content. Imagine if they were taxed under the PAYG system, one group simply is allowed to buy a work vehicle with it's tax. The other can't even claim the train to work and back.
If your dad or your neighbours want to commit a crime and lie to the ATO then that's their business, that's not the tax system giving them a benefit. The tax office can scour through your log book, see where and when you filled up, see when you drove on a toll road and see when you got a traffic fine. Any little discrepancies stand out like a dog's balls and anybody wanting to roll the dice is completely at their mercy when they get caught. That sounds a lot more reasonable. If more people had the gumption to work a laboring job then you wouldn't have to pay premium wages, but considering so many people shit on tradies for really no reason at all, it's not the least surprising that people don't want to do it anymore. But that's the irony of it; the more people like you slag them off, the more people who stick with the job get paid. Money talks, bullshit walks.I honestly wouldn't expect any less from tradesman. When you can buy your housewife a German made runaround against your company you're a blight on Australia.
Yeah but someone whos 23 wanting the best available tools for the job is ripping off aussies.
Most people only dream of that!Ironically said by people who have no problem with other people negatively gearing three properties to the ****.
Someone told me tradies get a 50k rebate for all their tools and equipment. Which would explain why they all drive brand new, Challengers, Trtons and Hiluxes instead of Ford AU utes.
They don't really get a 50k handout do they? Surely not! Assuming that was a blatant exaggeration.. how are they actually able to afford these cars? We're talking 23yr olds not established bosses. Are they paid for by the tax payer via apprenticeship grants, subsidized by the taxpayer through tax deductions or given to the employee by the employer who purchases them via tax benefits subsidized by the tax payer?
That’s the other thing office people fail to understand! Working a skilled labour jobs takes its tole on its body & work comes with the economic turns of the timeFather is a carpenter also 57. Self employed but flat out struggling to find enough work. And his body will be ****** at some point. Economic downturn affects everyone and idiots like who like to make generalizations about tradies being paid lots of money to be lazy (that Bell Tower Times idiot also springs to mind) have no clue.
