I believe that, if we can beat Hawthorn in a week's time, then we will be a better-than-average chance to make the Grand Final. The Hawks are our last real roadblock - the poor bastards who have to play a well-rested West Coast at Subi after 2 gruelling finals matches best remember to bring their lube, because we will shaft them something chronic.

We can beat Hawthorn. We have the cattle. They will come out all guns (and fists, and elbows, and knees, etc) blazing in the first half, but if we are with them at half time then we should run them down on our own ground.

Dig deep. Time to hunt.

Two home finals will be key imo.

Eagles win = GF against Freo
Eagles lose = Dockers probably knock us out in a prelim
 
We beat Freo with injuries galore recently, no reason we couldn't do it in a prelim.

Imagine that. Derby prelim. The city would shut down for the night. Possibly the biggest sporting event ever to happen in Perth. Flip of the coin if there ever was one.

Would need to be a crazy amount of emergency services at the ground and around perth
 
The Adelaide loss has shook my confidence, we just got outplayed, outrun and outsmarted tactically. Very disconcerting leading up to finals - just shows our holes and weaknesses to the opposition.

We need to smash St Kilda, mainly for my confidence.

Just remember 06 v Freo. Same rnd. Same result.

We will destroy the St's. Nothing surer.

Every year we made a GF, we've lost our 2nd last H&A game. 1991 the exception where we lost the last round, so maybe the pattern is a late season loss = GF appearance?

Hindsight.

I watched it after having gone to witness it. We weren't trying.
Crows blew us away so we turned off for the day. Some of the stuff I saw off the ball was up there with some of Essendons efforts this year.
Simmo even had Nic on the bench for a third of the game.

As for finals, my confidence is sky high.
Beat the Saints, no travel, beat the Hawks, week off, no travel, home final, big dance.

Just need to beat the Saints with no injuries then have a crack at the Hawks.

make no mistake swans will pip freo in perth. now the winner of us versus hawks is irrelevant cuz i see hawks eagles in GF regardless. some GF.
 
Top 2 is now a reality

Sure we have the reigning premier (and arguably the best team in the comp) first up in our quest for a prelim berth. But they have to come here so we are a legit chance to knock them over and earn a two week rest and another home final to play off for our sixth grand final appearance

Massive effort from Simpson and the boys.
