Cotch is captain material no doubt, you can't play that hard and not be, captain material included the ability to drag your team to a win, he does that, it's the same toughness we all see in Vlas who some of us have already called to be captain.

At this stage i want a new coach, next year may change my mind i highly doubt that but you never know.

To me, I would put Riewoldt and Rance as co-captains instead of Cotchin next year. Yes, he does have the on-field leadership in terms of performance, but so do Rance and Riewoldt. Rance and Riewoldt though excel over Cotchin in a few areas (in my opinion) important for leadership - the willingness to accept criticism and the strong passion for team performance.

I don't know if it is me who notices this, but when I see Rance and Riewoldt play, they have this strong team mentality about them. They hardly care about how they are performing - it is about the team. Especially Rance. Not saying Cotchin doesn't have this at all, but the level passion and drive that Rance and Riewoldt show for their club isn't very common in the AFL, so it is more about them than Cotchin. They have the passion, the on-field aggression, the willingness to tell it like it is and the courage to stand up when things go awry on the field.

That is a reason why I'd make them co-captains with each other. One captain at either end of the field officially keeping the team in check. Reason why I'd make them co-captains is because I am not sure if they can handle all of the responsibility on their own. Sydney have been doing the co-captain thing and it seems to go well for them.

Then, I'd have Cotchin and Deledio (if he is still around) as the midfielders in the leadership group and I'd add Vlastuin in there too so that he can start to learn how to be an on-field leader. Not a slight on Cotchin though, hence why he remains in the leadership group as he is Richmond's best leader in the midfield.

I wanted Dimma gone last week, but the reality is, after seeing the scenes in the change rooms Friday late, these guys will die in a ditch for Dimma and they remain 'bought-in' to the grander plan.

Even Vickery, that was an effort game from him on Friday night, did things we haven't seen him do for months.

I wouldn't read too much into the scenes with Dimma and the players, it was after a big week where he had copped a lot of criticism and they were showing their support for him,it's not like they do it after every win.
