Tripe. It only became relevant when Geelong, their fans and the media said they had beaten every team that year to win the flag.... Had that one comment not been made, round 4 would never have been brought up.

!Cos just when u start to think their supporters are ok, d*ckheads like Hoiley80 or whatever start trolling threads about one of our players career possibly ending...
I hate the Hawks, but it's a footy-hate, not a real hate.
Just footy-hate!
So you're not a big fan of Paul Chapmans then?So we'd have to have a minder, throw glasses of drink over people for no reason, take some nose candy or special pills and visit medical clinics in Ivanhoe. No thanks,my shoes will do just fine.

Let's bring some sanity back to the debate I started
Seriously, all the best for Egan. I hope he defies medical reports and gets back to being the super player he is.
The cats will be a very very hard team to beat next year. I don't understand why there is so much animosity between Hawk and Geelong supporters. I think it is a healthy rivalry and to be honest, I think we will have a hard time beating the cats in 09. In saying that, if our guns stay healthy and continue to improve we are a chance to make the top 4 again and from there anything can happen.
A couple of injuries at the wrong time, coaching errors etc and it all goes bad very quickly. I hope our team and supporters pull their head in and try to be humble in winning and gracious in losing.
Good luck Cats. Can't wait for footy to start again.

Every clubs wardrobe has skeletons in it (Ezra Bray anyone?).
And this Holier than thou crap is only masquerading your envy.

So quick to judge.. tsk tsk.
I have never judged Gary Ablett senior for what he did because i didn't know all the facts, just as you don't know the facts about Buddy.. It's all innuendo and you shouldn't be so quick to judge someone you have never met based on some "rumours" you heard..
Actually, no one asked. A Hawthorn supporter was the opening poster asking the question.I hated the player-group and coach for their arrogance. I hated Scarlett (the greatest full-back in the history of the game) for goading opposition players about his being on the path to 2 flags in a row. I hated Thompson for eating sandwiches in the box and carrying on when he should have been showing the opposition side some respect.
My hate subsided late in September. Pride comes before a fall; I'm glad it was proven.
(BTW, before you start ... you asked.)

Actually, no one asked. A Hawthorn supporter was the opening poster asking the question.
What's more, there is no evidence for any arrogance from the playing group or coach. In fact I'd go as far as saying Thompson is the most humble coach I've ever seen.
What you say about Scarlett has no evidence.
How is eating a salad roll not showing respect?
Fool.
As I was reading this I was preparing to disarm each point as I read it, but since all five points are complete garbage it isn't worth it.Sorry, didn't actually read the original post ... oops. Anyway, I still stand by the comments.
He claimed after the loss that if they played again next week Geelong would win, and that he can't wait to beat the Hawks in '09. Smarmy and humble are not the same thing.
Granted, he's a second-rate full-back at best. What full-back wouldn't look good on a team like that?
And as far as the salad roll was concerned, the point is that he wasn't even watching the game. We was prancing around the box chatting to all and sundry smiling and laughing; all while his team was raping some poor side. That's arrogance made flesh.
