Pretty spot on, although i'm bullish that if/when we get an AFL standard KPF our game style will look a million times better and our improvement will be exponential.

Great read hopefully Alex Pearce & Appness can get fit I think luke strnadica could be the one in the next year or 2 but needs to play forward in WAFL

Hiya Dockers fans, I'm writing a series of list management analysis articles on The Roar and you guys are up today - thought there might be some here who'd enjoy reading it, or if not that, enjoy telling me how horribly wrong I am ;)

Very good.
Not sure I agree about Crozier though. He has shown a fair bit as a high half forward in recent weeks and his defensive pressure has been terrific. Probably needs to show a bit more consistency though.

We all had our own favourite, Crozier not yet extended his contract before season end show that he do had trade value .
His re-signing is only a matter of time according to the media. He has done enough in the past month to show his value to Freo. imho.
He is the sort of player that Freo might try to trade though, I agree. Depends on if they are desperately after something he could get them.

Thorough report and accurate observations.

IF something were to be added it could be a projection forward to next year's draft where we would have some local targets in Hill and O'Reilly, plus our Academy player Carter. In addition it is reputably a "talls" rich draft and raises the question about Brander being the best investment between the two drafts (of course next year is speculative, but club's would be looking ahead). All in all that could have an impact on our list management for this season, especially as we are not realistically competing for finals until 2020.

Article is pretty much spot-on, IMO. :thumbsu: It's going to be an interesting trade period!

Pretty much dead on.

Mildly miffed at the 'not looking good but kept winning' at the start of the year. Inconsistency was the rub. We'd look ****ing amazing for a quarter or two (Dogs, Melbourne, Richmond games) and blow them off the park. Nek minnut back to the usual trash. I dunno what it is, whether it was the opposition slacking off or just managing to hit all our targets for a brief period.

Good list analysis.

As others have said a good read and hard to argue with much of it.

Out of our 10 oldest players I'd count maybe 3 as best 22 and we're showing better signs of covering them now then we were at the start of 2017.

Lots of holes to fill but we've maybe 3/4 of a decent 22 now which fills like progress at least.

A good read. I would say fairly accurate assessment of most players. Crozier, however, has been better than what this suggests, and I think with a decent run at it, Tabs might finally come good, but it's hard when you play one bad game and you get dropped while others get a bit of a free ride. That plus out forward entries are shyte - it's lucky that we have the number 1 contested marker in the league in our forward line to make something of the shit entries... of that's right. That's Matthew Taberner. But I digress.

Sadly, I would bet my bottom dollar that Nick Suban is far more likely to be on our list next year than Taberner, no matter how much it perplexes us as supporters.

This paragraph in the article "The opportunity to make a match-winning play passes in a split second and if you must first check where your man is or ponder where to run in case of a turnover, it can pass you by."

Summed up the issues with an overly defensive style more succinctly in one sentence than anything I've ever read about it before.

Well done.

A new playing group playing a new game plan will take time to bed in. Once everyone knows where everyone else will be, it all looks sharp and preternatural. But all it is is trust in where someone will be, and where the ball needs to be.

Great sports journalism ....thorough and accurate. Well done. Would add that the early fourth rounds could help as it has happened that there are good pickups even out to 60
