Hmmm that's a really good question actually. I'd probably have to pay more attention to Allan's decision making and ball use, because that's where Noddys disappoints me before answering, so soft answer for now is I'm not sure lol.

Could also be whoever is willing to accept a low financial offer and minimum duration contract, as neither are really worth much else. If Noddy gets another bad injury and misses a chunk of time this season, he could just about be finished.
Yeah I honestly don't know either, but could be a potential watch for both.

NOD feels like on he's on a path for delisting if he doesn't make progress on some of his weaknesses quickly. But the ultimate decision may come down to who else is available for depth.

What's most interesting about Jai Serong is Sydney won his interest with plans to play him in defense, Freo wanted him for the wing - and now he is playing on the wing.
I'm convinced Caleb bullied him as a kid and Jai chose Sydney to avoid nipple cripples, pink bellies and wet willies

Yep. Martin only lasted 4 months before doing his ACL again. I said at the time of Martin's original injury that while it was a bit of an awkward collision, it wasn't someone sweeping his leg and looked to be the sort of thing most people wouldn't end up with an ACL from. And the setback was described as slipping at training (i.e. very minor incident).

Not sure what happened with Jones' first ACL, but his second one was really a nothing type of incident. Just a slightly awkward landing and bang.

ACL injuries have a strong genetic component and I suspect both of these guys are unfortunately predisposed to ACL injuries.

Hopefully they can come back to have long careers, but I think the risk is too high for the cost (draft picks and $$$) involved.
Much must be risked to win premierships. I would consider it a bigger risk to not go after the injury prone A-graders in the hopes one of our late draft picks turns into a star winger in the next 2-3 years.

Nick Martin for a first rounder would be pretty good pickup
Essendon aren't trading him unless he comes out and demands it, even then it's a 50/50. They would be able to pay him significantly more than us and they have very few leaders at the club so won't want to lose him. Once you do your knee a few times, I'm sure you look at your career differently and I wouldn't be leaving if I was him.

I do think experiencing a longterm rehab really ingrains loyalty (for an injury without an irresponsible medico component like Petracca, or repeated soft tissue injuries that a player might perceive to be a S+C issue).

This is why we need to break both of Treacy's knees now. A detriment to our 2026, sure, but a small price to pay for that long-term next contract.

Bombers might wanna cash in on one of the few players that has currency. I don’t think he’ll leave though, he’s come out publicly and said he wants to repay them for picking him up. All you can do is ask though

They could have done that with Merritt.

If they want to cash him, they will demand 3 firsts for a injured player coming back from a knee rather than a Bailey Smith like deal. They don't have many to pay and the whole club wants to win for their jobs rather than telling their fans that they are restarting another rebuild for the 5th time in a row without winning a final.

They need to come up with a good slogan for that campaign. Rebuilding without Dorodo - It's different this time

unfortunately i dont think you can reasonably apply any logic to bombers listing building decisions

Personally I’d keep our powder dry and throw the kitchen sink at Warner next year.

Keep developing Whan, try and get Robinson and another winger through the doors this year. Perhaps a developing Ruck and a key back.
That’d see us well set up.
I’d see Ollie Murphy getting delisted this year. O’Meara should be gone too
Yes I also see Ollie disappearing at the end of the year unless he really hits his straps at WAFL this year. I had high hopes for him during pre-season but some sort of knee injury set him back and Davies and McDonald are now the clear next Key Position backs then Draper.

You might be right, it feels like the club is very comfortable with Ras, Johnson and JOM sharing the wings and they seem to have a plan for Sharp which has got him back playing some good footy.

I wonder what it would cost to pry Weitering out of Carlton. Two years younger than Pearce. Never misses games. Allows Pearce to go and captain Tassie as a premiership player, and we legit get stronger 😎
I've been a huge Weitering fan for years & rated him in the top 3 kpd's but this year he looks like he has fallen off the proverbial cliff.
Maybe it was the SOO injury, but he looks a shadow of the player he was

Playing for Carlton does that to you.

No idea where to put this so it’s going here. My neurodivergent mind has been ticking over with random shit as it always does, and I think we need to stop using Small Cox and Big Cox for our two Coxes. Henceforth, I think we should call them BaldCox and GoggleCox. I hope others join the nickname revolution. Thank you for your time. ☺️

It’s Cox and Mox (Mock Cox) for me.
