I watched this last night. I'm not much of a bleeding heart generally, but I don't think I could ever go to a SeaWorld park anywhere again. Those poor animals.

I know there are a heap of people making trips to N Korea for a doco ie VICE, this one is good from Mads Brugger who you may have seen in The Ambassador, another great doco.
This one is great explores in some way, the views of N Korea to the Handicapped. Reccomended viewing give it a 6/10.

Watched Blackfish tonight. Good documentary about the dangers of keeping killer whales in captivity and the shadiness of seaworld management.

Not for the squeemish if you're afraid of needles, but it's extremely dark and grim. Doesn't seem sugarcoated and is fairly up close and raw for the most part.

Now for something a bit different.
I recently came across a Doco on a torrent site called Whores' Glory This doco looks at the life of prostitutes in three countries: Thailand, Bangladesh, & Mexico. It interviews them and gives you a real birds-eye view of their lifestyles. The Bangladesh segment is particularly stark, with young women hired out for as little as $4.00 Australian (300 Baht).
Overall this is doco not pleasant viewing, but it is strangely compelling in its grittiness, and its humanity. From what the Johns think of the prostitutes they visit, and how they justify cheating on their wives and girlfriends; to how the prostitutes themselves deal with what they do and how they feel about it.
There are times you know they're playing it up for the camera, but then slowly you see the masks fall away. The soul crushing unhappiness of these women seems forever percolating just under the surface of their smiling façade.

Watched that Whore's Glory, very good. Couldn't stop laughing at one of the prostitutes being interviewed who kept saying "Back in the day i was THE whore."

Do you mean that old pro near the end in the Mexico segment going on about the ice, and how she did 40 men a day etc? I agree she was funny. What surprised me was when they actually show one of those Mexican whores doing a trick. It's an interesting doco that's for sure.
Sweet sounds like some good docos in here i've been onto the sport ones lately but will probably return to the general field soon. Last one I saw at the cinema was The Imposter and that delivered.

I have to point out there is a tiny mistake in your opening post about the doco. The currency in Bangladesh is Taka and i remember a section where a guy approached one of the girls who tried to insist she charged 200 BDT, but the guy talked her into 50 BDT (AU$0.70) pretty easily.🥰 Love BigFooty? Excellent documentary on a man's journey in living with bears in Alaska. I guess you can see as the documentary unfolds how it affects his state of mind being on his own a majority of time, before he and his girlfriend met an untimely death at the hands of one of the animals.
Not sure why i am sticking this one in the thread, it's not necessarily a good documentary, but if you want to see some gruesome deaths uncut, then this is for you.
