Any very good strong bodied center half forwards in any of the minor leagues (SANFL, WAFL, VFL etc) that have a half decent kick on them? It seems as though recruiters may be looking towards the mature aged rookies a bit more now considering how well Freo have used it to it's advantage with Broughton, Silvagni & Barlow among others.

I'm not one of these guys writing off Clokey, but what I am saying is I think we need a genuwine CHF and maybe even play Cloke closer to goal, or even a CHF as a project player, see what they can become.

I find it hard to get alot of information on these types of players, but if anybody could point me in a decent direction or thinks maybe this is a decent path to follow speak up.

Can't Think of any but Nick Saunter who plays for Sandy in the VFL just about kicks 100 Goals every season. But he is a FF

Isn't there a big CHF who plays for port melbourne? I remember watching a game and he kicked like 6. May have my teams wrong though and he might be a bit old even for a mature aged rookie.

I think his name is Adrian Bonaddio

Far more likely to find mature-age midfielders (generally slow and undersized). Any key position prospect with the required athletic ability will get taken in the National Draft.

I'll go out on a limb and say that there is a centre half forward playing in the Canberra comp that could have given the AFL a crack at some stage a few years ago. He's been the best CHF for about 3 or 4 years now, and is fit, strong and has amazing hands. He used to play for Ainslie and is now playing for Queanbeyan. I seriously doubt anyone would take someone from this league though (Hird the exception :D )
