Sheed reminds me a lot of Peter Featherby, he looks like he moves slowly but with those long strides he actually covers the ground very well. Hope he has the skills and nous of Featherby, time will tell.

I never saw Peter Featherby play, my old man (Subi supporter) used to go on about how good he was. Featherby was a great accumulator as well wasn't he? Registered 45 odd disposals in a match or something like that? If Sheed ends up developing like that we'll be laughing.

I think we've all learned by now that possessions aren't everything. Just look at the thread for everyone's favourite 'elite' midfielder

Whilst generally true, Feathers was remarkable and in an era in which possession counts were much much lower than today.

Even most of the oldies on here only saw Feathers on his return to Subi through the early mid 80's and he was much slower and did have less penetration on his kicks but early mid 70's he was one of my favs as a kid ...

Not sure I see any Feathers in Sheed though

He's exactly what we knew from the start - not particularly fast, not particularly slow.

Hardly a basis to judge his speed from, all the adelaide defenders are running in the opposite direction.

Kind of like Gaff slow, or Sloan slow, or Lewis slow, or Duncun slow, or J Selwood slow ect ect...

Brereton even called Sheed "quick". ;)

Genius that he is.

To be fair, Brereton was so clueless that he thought Cripps was Sheed and was talking up Cripps's speed when Sheed stood up with the ball in his hand :drunk:

They are the about the size, have a similar haircut and look similar from a distance, easy mistake really.

and both cover the ground well.
