Can't speak for DBC 17 yet, but in the previous game I treated every game mode like it was a T20 even when I shouldn't. Commonly could get to 50 within 10 balls and a century within 20 (usually by 18). I would craft proper innings sometimes, my motivation being to not get out while attempting double/triple centuries.

Haven't played any long form in DBC17 yet (T10 ftw), but in DBC14 I found it didn't really reward you for playing safe. Playing in shield games, the vast majority of my dismissals were from snicking up while playing straight (with no aggression, sometimes defending). It just became a better strategy to be aggressive and take your chances on being caught.

The good old 3 or 4 good in swingers followed up by a full/good out swinger gets me a lot of edges.

I never defended and would try to never play aggressive in longer forms for DBC14. Just a normal shot and time it well either into fielders or gaps. Would get to 50 in around 30 balls then start going hard when they decided mid-on wasn't needed
 
First crash after playing for around 30 hours. Love this game btw. Playing as Finch, Plays so life like. People have forgot how easy batting was in say cricket 07 ect this is an amazing game simulation wise though. Gameplay A+

Really getting stuck in now, once you adjust to post-DBC14 style it does play really well. Can't wait for team logos to be fixed, presentation is already great but will look even better once they are.

Two things for BigAntStudios though:
1. Glasses/sunglasses don't appear to work at all. Selected them in the academy but they don't show up when batting or fielding.
2. The option to select kits in every game mode is high on my wanted list. Made home and away kits but can't choose between them when playing in a round robin style comp for example.

Edit: Make that 3 things, need to bring back the ability to have names underneath the number on the shirt as per most T20 comps.

I've been getting freaky caught and bowled a lot. A straight drive down the ground and Doug the Rug somehow finds the ball in his mits

So I've managed to complete my first season as a Left arm finger spinning all rounder.

I bat at 5 and averaged just under 15, I only managed to take 1 wicket for the whole season (Had about 5 catches drop which doesn't help!) and I have gone straight into my second season trying to get that Vic contract. Much improved start to this season, grabbed 2 wickets in two overs bowling a guy who was around 50 and then next over trapped a guy in front LBW. Really starting to enjoy the game now as I can see the improvement in my bowling it's starting to get some turn and unpredictable bounce etc. With the bat I'm getting more powerful, managed to score 44 off 32 in my last hit after being 10 from 22 balls! 3 sixes in one game (Hadn't hit 1 before this match in my career!)

I guess its a game of patience, gradually build those skills up and your player will gradually become more consistent with the bat and ball. No crashes since Patch #2 (Touches head).
 
Is the problem with crashing all logos, or just team logos? Because I removed all team logo's and I still can't play a competition.
 
Alright diggity dogs, got the game yesterday but just having a crack at it now.
In regards to creating a team, could I make a team with my mates and I, then put us in the Australian national comp?
Would this involve just taking the spot and swapping out a current team?
Say I swap places with Tasmania, would they still have the Hurricanes in there or would I need to somehow need to create a BBL side to put in there as well.

I forgot how it all works, hope that makes sense though.
In the meantime while I wait, I'll begin making a few people.
Think I'll make myself an all rounder, not sure if I should bowl spin or seam - whatever gets the most wickets on here!
I bowl med-fast in real life (well compared to actual players it would be deemed as right arm very slow).

BBL sides and state sides are separate entities that aren't linked in any way.

The crashing is supposedly caused by custom team logos taking up too much space. But I get a crash even if I use the default team logos, so I don't know.

One of the many downsides of having eleventy thousand bugs.
 
Looks like sales have been good for the game so far. I went to buy this today at my local Target and it was sold out. Then went to EB games and it was sold out. Then tried JB hifi and it was sold out there too! Ended up buying it online at ozgameshop.

All of my opponents in the Shield have been wearing their List A uniforms
