I can't believe some of the threads i'm reading.Talk about droping youngster's like browne, anderson, grigg and so on.People some of these boys haven't even played 10 games,we have to give them game time.We are not a finals team yet so let's not get ahead of ourselves.Keep blooding the youngsters and sure some days they are going to let us down but in the long run we will better of when they have 50 to 60 games under the belt.So i think we are at least 2 years from having a good crack at finals footy, 9th or 10th would be good year for our list surely for this year.the good times are coming don't worry just a little more patience.

Yes but I want players like Austin and Ellard to have a go after good form for the Bullants.Armfield Jacobs Hartlett Blackwell Hadley.
J Russell has to go.
Kreuz, Stevo, Bower, Judd, Jamo, Walker are playing hurt.
Some need to be brought back to Earth - Fev, Carazzo and Fischer are in this group
It is not tanking but building

Just finding it hard to be positive at the moment. We have most probably one or maybe 2 wins left this year. So we should use the remaining games to build for next year. If I sound flat I am. I really thought after a week off and Friday night footy versus the Saints we had everything to play for and would come out blazing.
Also I think I just found an E on the floor that may have dropped off your name. Would you like me to send it to you?

Couldnt agree more, how can a spud like Russell warrant a senior afl game at any club

Jordan Russel is a frustrating character. He will do something pleasing like take a good grab and then butcher the kick. Just little basic things that are letting him down. Its not the easiest spot on the ground to play but you can see hes busting his gut coz he knows his time is nearly up. That chase down and tackle last night proves my point. But you cant hold your spot in the side just on 1% efforts.

With a tough draw coming up if we were to finish with 9 wins that'll be a fairly good year- it's what we all expected at the start of the season.

If Hampson is a long-term prospect get him in now and keep Kreuzer in the forward line. That'll give Hammo some more experience and give us another tall to help out Fev. Kreuzer probably needs a bit of a rest from rucking anyway. Also get Hartlett in and suddenly we have a bit more potent forward line. Guys like Wiggins and Edwards don't seem to make an impact against the better teams, so give them a spell for a little while. Also think about getting Austin in- that'll give us more options with Waite.

Mates rates?:D

We all know we are better than last nights performance suggested and the footy Gods could be looking down on us because we are still only 1 game (and percentage) out of 6th position.

It is definately going to be a fight for the final 8 and now Essendon enter the race as they are only one game behind us after tonight's win.

In saying that, I don't think we will make the 8 and if we do then I don't think we will worry anybody, however, footy is a funny game and anything can happen.

I am just glad we will finish out of the bottom 4. Anything higher than that is a bonus IMO.

As annoyed as i was with last night's loss i must admit to not being perturbed at all at the likelihood of missing the finals. I just think they're going to be that little more focussed on what they need to be over the off-season if they miss.

Also, after seeing first hand the talent available during the week, i don't think we'd exactly lose by having picks a spot or two higher. ;)

Agree with this - hence why midway during the 3rd quarter, I thought a loss would be the better result (not that I wasn't praying for the win, regardless).

I'd just concentrate on developing the team as a whole, and giving someone like Austin a run should his form warrant selection, which it does. Forget about finals this year.

We're one game out of the 6th spot, Brisbane and especially Adelaide, whom we play, are struggling, the latter with a couple of serious injuries, we have a winnable game next week now given the Swans form although we will be underdogs. On top of that we play North (50/50) and Port, who have put he cue in the rack. FFS, why are we discussing anything else.

We may fall just short given the run home, nothing wrong with that given where we were, but while we're in contention we play our guts out to make the finals, not give it away and start developing players. If we end up out of finals contention at some stage soon then think about development and sending guys off for surgery but not before.
