According to 5AA

Flu.

Petrenko in.

Armstrong, Douglas' room mate not allowed to play for the Roosters either.

Something up?

Thats a pity for Douglas. I was hopeful he was going to continue on his solid form he has shown lately.

Was fairly keen to see Armstrong on ABC today as well :(

Surely if it was Swine Flu there would be questions posed about the rest of the squad, wouldn't there?

Would imagine it's just a precaution with all the hubaloo about the flu right now with Armstrong.

Is a shame though, he was building up some good form in the SANFL:(

Reid just on, said they won't get test result back for at least 24 hours.

Thats a real shame, he was in line to play his 50th game :( I hope he can make it back into the side next week.

I would have liked to have seen Armstrong come in for Dougie but I guess he can't play.

Bad news for Dougy but hopefully Patrenko can have a blinder. I still think he really added something to our side in the 1st few rounds. He also got lost in a few games but i think that was due to his role changing

If Radar and Petrenko have good games this week, it could become a bit of a worry for Dougy. With players like Radar not getting games lately the last thing youd want is a forced absence. May find it difficult to get back in.

Those ****en filthy Victorians. They are as bad as Mexicans, if not worse.

Thats being a tad racist isnt it?

Its the flu, everyone gets it, regardless of what state they live in or their personal hygiene. But then again Richie is victorian so maybe it does matter what state you live in

Douglas and Armstrong spent time with some blind kids during the week as part of Crows Foundation donation or something. They probably gave the kids swine flu as well. Poor little buggers :( :p

ADELAIDE have been hit by a swine flu scare on the eve of their AFL round 12 match against North Melbourne.

Young onballer Richard Douglas reported symptoms of the flu yesterday and was withdrawn from the side to play the Kangaroos on Saturday morning, being placed in quarantine pending the results of testing.

Mr Douglas' housemate Tony Armstrong, who had been listed among the three Adelaide emergencies, was also taken out of the firing line as the Crows sought to keep the flu out of their ranks given the tendency of bugs to spread like wildfire through a football club.

Jared Petrenko has replaced Douglas in the Adelaide 22 while Robert Shirley and Myke Cooke have been added to the emergency list.

"Dougy has the symptoms of the flu and, as part of the process that everyone is going through at the moment, anyone that is living in the same quarters -which in this case is Tony - has to be kept out of harm's way,'' Crows football operations manager John Reid told the AFL website today.

Had to laugh at this line from the AFC article:
“We’ve got 24-36 hours to find out whether it’s the flu or anything worse than that.”
Since when has swine flu been worse than the regular flu? Everything I've read has said that it's milder than the standard seasonal flu.

Hope it's not something serious (non-flu related) though.

It is!

Swine Flu is the biggest beatup in the history of the universe.

Tell you what, I wouldn't mind a week off and in quarantine - when you're feeling better after a day or two.

Exactly. At the moment Swine Flu isn't deadly in Australia, it is just like normal flu, pretty much harmless. It's pretty much the same as normal flu (in Australia that is), even normal flu kills a few people every year. However if swine flu mutates as it did in Mexico then it can become a worry. However most of the casualities in Mexico were either malnourished already or pretty old in age... Anyway, swine flu has the capacity to be more deadly than normal flu but it hasn't mutated thankfully, yet in Australia. Anyway, even if does mutate we've got the vaccines and medication to combat it.
