Isn't it fantastic watching footy videos from another era, still amazed at the skill levels from 70 years ago!!

I'm pretty sure your correct, King Richard did have the newsagents in Snell Grove a few doors up from the fish and chip shop. Just around the corner across the road from the railway station in Waterloo Road was the TAB, where Jimmy Buckley and myself used to pop down to at lunchtimes sometimes when we were doing our year 12 (HSC) at Oak Park High.

Now that is a trip down memory lane

Plenty of memories of Oak Park. Both my sisters lived in Oak Park when I was a younger man. A friend of my brother ran the service station on the corner across the road from railway station. I certainly pounded the pavement around the northern golf course (down Cardinal Rd, along Boundary Rd, up West Street, back along Glenroy Rd to where I lived at 14 Isla Ave) when I was young boy with a dream. We’re almost Paese!

We sure are Robbo!!! I remember that servo across the road from the station...by memory I think it was a Caltex, and you could get a road worthy there pretty easily on your old pile of junk.
I used to pound the same route around the Northern Golf Course when I was younger and more nimble. I used to live across the road from it, and Harmesy and myself used to hit our old golf balls onto the golf course from the front yard.....mind you, he cold hit it about 300 metres!!

The thrill of taking my young lad to little athletics the first time up at Coburg behind the old pool. Well the lad had a good time though soon decided on other sports but the thrill for me was reading the record book and seeing the name Harmes etched there many years after he set the record.

My memory says it was the 100 m...but memories play tricks..and this was back in the nineties

Loved him in the navy blue ,I'm not sure opposition supporters had much time for him !! Or Diesel for that matter..
I know I didn't like him much as a swan ..

Watched some of our 2001 EF win against Adelaide on Fox Footy the other night. Jimmy Plunkett was awesome that day & it got me thinking just how handy he might have been in our midfield over the last couple of years when our depth has been a bit light on.

I remember the game clearly , my big brother is a half arsesd Hawk supporter, he thought they had it in the bag until Rhys and the boys pulled their pants down .
I taped over one of his pre recorded cassettes with a bit of my own commentry of the game and he belted me up..

Done the same thing with one of my bummer supporter school mates during the game when Tim Watson jumped over one of our players and goaled .
I thought we had that game in the bag .
My commentating retired after that..

So we have the blonde tipp, Levi denim jacket , shark tooth necklace and the Reebok's to go with the tight testical squashing jeans with the flares .

No doubt Rhys could play, but sometimes he just couldn’t control himself.

Only time I ever been really disappointed with a Carlton player was when Rhys punched Robbie Flower at the MCG. Could never understand or accept that from a Carlton player.

I have vague memories of seeing a classic close win over West Coast at princes park in the 90’s where Craig Bradley was somehow the hero.

Does anyone know what I’m talking about and can fill out my memories a bit better?
