Interested to know how many (in the drafting system's time) top 10 picks have been absolutely ****house and havent made anything of themselves, e.g. not played many games, been delisted after a few years etc.
Anyone help me out?

Daniel McAlister
Did Murray Vance or Danny Roach play 5 games?

vance 5 and roach 1

Daniel McAllister would have to rate fairly highly.

Heffernan as a No.2 was also not as beneficial as could have hoped.

What, like Ottens you mean?.Yeah what a mistake that was.We just swapped him for 2 first rounders after 6 years use.

Top post !

well thats one, and he's questionable because he was traded based on the potential he has. potential he hasnt meet at richmond because he has been far from brillant.

others come to mind are fiora (TRADED) and Petifer (not much one can say other than he isnt very good).

wouldnt mind some first round success stories for the tigers.

i think every draft has 1-2 top 10 players that dont make it. only 20-30 players from each draft make 100 games, law of averages say they wont all come from the first 20 picks.

Played 98 games at Essendon and his second half of the year was pretty servicable. Still has a lot to offer.

D.Mac was a jet in the under 18's, understand why he went so high, just a shame it never translated into a successful AFL footballer.

Don't think Hodge was a blunder, still an extremely talented footballer.

You make it sound like it was just a horrible decision. Hodge is better than any of your youngsters.

But the Bulldogs are better than your team.

Relevance?

A Hawthorn supporter has responded to a Richmond supporter on an issue regarding both those clubs, and now we have a Geelong supporter responding to the Hawthorn supporter with comment pertaining to the Bulldogs?!

The fact is, It was a blunder.

It was a blunder because there were better players than Hodge in that draft.

Its irrelavent if Hodge is a great player, the thing is there were two better than him...Ball and Judd

I remember Geelong trading for the first pick - then using it on Steven Handley.
?????? Steven Handley was picked up in mid-season draft of 91 at pick number 24.

You're probably thinking of Stephen Hooper, who was the number 1 pick but only played 21 games. But as we only traded David Cameron and Stephen Hamilton for the pick, we didn't particularly lose out.
