What happens if we consider Todd Marshall the best talent in the draft and he's available at our pick?

Hard to imagine him not becoming a serious weapon with a bit of size added to his frame.

Say, we think McCluggage will be a poor man's Treloar, but we think Marshall is a blue chip mini Riewoldt.
Kind of like selecting Armo ahead of J.Roo, as the obvious choice is a midfielder, but.......

Reason why I want Venables, is that I want to capitalize on the Gresh score.

I reckon Petracca is slightly overrated, Brayshaw is no guarantee to be a stud, and I want to counteract the mint picks the Dees & Bombers have had to pick onballers.

Gresh has the tricks, movement and x-factor, but a young animal that could rip into Brayshaw, Petracca & Viney over the next decade...


And yes, gimme Gresh over Parish, Petracca & Brayshaw.

Not really worried about where our status is on draft night. In the lead up everyone wanted Mathiesson and he went pick 39. We ended up picking up Gresham which not many would have picked before the trade period last year and so far he looks the goods.

Mathieson looks the goods too, ( though i like to think Gresh will be special ). Damn , could have got him with our second rounder if not for Clarkson the interfering prick.

Watching some of the Metro v WA game.
Tim Taranto was in everything. Got inside and outside game, has clean hand and foot skills, has a huge tank, thinks through situations and is dangerous forward of centre. Definitely star quaility about the kid.

Venables running goal out of the centre from 55 out was a highlight.
SPS and SPP clear future gun players.

I wouldn't mind McGrath, haven't seen a lot but seems he's spending most time as a running backman. Think he has the scope to be an effective wingman as well though. Big fan of his attributes.

Can lock down too. Only real knock is his size.

So if the draft was tomorrow and there was Venables, McGrath, Taranto, Scrimshaw, Rotham, Simpkin, Berry, Gallucci, Scharenberg, Clarke, Bowes, Setterfield and Perryman all there?

Retrospective look at the 2010 draft Knightmare vs Reality vs Hindsite .

1 David Swallow . Swallow. Very good player cruel-led by injury.
2 Sam Day Bennell Kind of ordinary.
3 Jarred Polec Day Hard to argue, when he's fit and firing. His 2014 was very good.
4 Heppell Gaff Richmond must still be kicking their own arses after picking Conca at 5
5 Ben Jacobs Polec Jacobs may have been somewhat overrated.
6 Lynch Conca Lynch should be ahead of Day and Jacobs
7 Wilkinson Caddy FAIL
8 Sean Atley Heppel not a first round choice.
9 Bennell Prestia Yes

It seems the actual club recruiters are doing a better job than KM, which is as it should be , they get paid the dollars. I'd take the real top 10 over KM's any day.
His rating of Lynch was a good one, but made up for it with Wilkinson.
Successfully rated Heppell's talent.

If venable luggage and McGrath are all gone by our 1st pick I'd be happy to settle for gallucci.

Would certainly add some speed and zip to our slow midfield.
