If you believe that article you would be failing English at Brighton Grammar as Robert Shaw teaches Commerce!
I'm afraid I'll believe it over you, but in any event, I'm not interested in talking about any more.

Carry on.

no one actually owns up to going to any of those schools, let alone fighting over who went where...

Mate kissed me mum on the cheek and moved to the big smoke from country Vic. Bizzaro world. People were talking to themselves on the streets (weren't many cats rocking the mobile headsets back bare knuckle east gippy), but the most crazy thing was all these goofy kids wearing oversized putrid looking mens blazers. One all purple ffs. At this point i was missing the fresh country air and a nice bon fire with my koorie mates. Problem was I never had any koorie mates and rather enjoyed Melbourne despite the high number of w***ers, myself included. Seriously our yarra sparkles and our obscene addiction to coffee leaves the adrenal glands rinsed on top of the vitamin D defiency. Bro but its all worth it if you know a good indian joint.

Barrels would I be correct in saying Venables had a quiet game for school footy yesterday?
For three quarters yes, playing off half back. Then he went into the middle in the last and had a much greater influence.

Was apparently coughing his guts up at 3qtr time.

Seeing any games this weekend? Looking at the teams, are a lot of players not playing?

I'm not mate, I'm parenting this weekend. You're not wrong though, lots of players ARE missing; it's because school footy is back.

Should we trade what picks we can from this years draft , and get more picks for next year , given not too many good players of the type we need are available in this years draft , and most of the out of contract players have re-signed this year ? If Hurley signs on at Essendon , we might as well. Fisher might retire this year , but Riewoldt , Montagna and Dempster probably will the following year , so that would give us more time to evaluate existing talent , a good haul of draft picks , and enough salary space to go shopping at a time we may need to.

Don't think so when we still have to bring in 3 players this year (including rookie upgrades). So at least 3 current players must go off the senior list (not too hard) and you'd rather have better picks than worse ones I'd presume.

I realise you're suggesting we swap them for picks next year for FAs but FAs don't count in that minimum 3 new players on the senior list next year either, so we'd just be delaying getting young players in. Better to get young players in now rather than later anyway if we want to contend soon.

But it may be interesting if we started rookie-ing more mature players this year, say 20-21 year old state league players, or drafting an OOC player from an AFL list. Maybe we'll keep demoting senior players to the rookie list too as back-up, like Delaney for example.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this but I want Jont. Sort out a trade for a player and a pick in the 20's to make sure we nab one of Jont or Florent for me. There's going to be some real value in the 20's I think. A bit like the 2nd round last year. Josh Dunkley, Kieran Collins, Darcy Tucker, Ryan Clarke, Mitchell Hibberd. I would be happy with any of those kids on our list at the picks they went. I think there will be a few good prospects in the mid 20 range again this year that will have plenty of upside. Scharenberg, Florent, Galluci, Berry, Simpkin, Taranto. Some of those boys are going to be there in the 20's. Like we saw last year with Gresh it's definitely possible for a bloke we rate in the top 10 to be there at 18 (where we got Gresh after all the bidding) and after the top 4 or 5 standouts it looks pretty solid for the next 20-25 players. Just personal opinion from watching games this year, haven't followed these guys like all the recruiters and fanatics around here (eg. Barrels who's probably hiding in Gresham's bushes right now taking photos) but it seems like there will be some gems in the 20's who by all rights could be of equal talent to blokes at around 10-15. Please please please Saints, get at least one more pick in the top 25.

He knows I'm there. It's a game we play.

Classic game of cat and mouse. You hide in the bushes, he calls the cops, you run away, cops leave, you go back to the bushes. Rinse and repeat.

(Also Gresh must seriously be a good chance at the Rising Star this year if he finishes the season the way he's been playing the last few weeks.

Now that Essendope are bolted into the number 1 pick, I've had a think about it.

IMO if they're picking for needs its another KPF to help our Joe the 'Mo; their forwardline is pretty toothless outside him. That leads me to consider Todd Marshall, but I just don't see it happening, particularly when they could realistically grab Dandenong's Josh Battle at the top of the 2nd round.

That leads me back to BPA; Hugh McCluggage has had the standout season in the TAC Cup, but wasn't so much a top pick before that, Sam Petrevski-Seton is arguably the most precociously talented player in the mix, but may be a worry with hamstring issues and is a potential flight risk. What occurs to me is if Jab Watson decides to end his career in a Brooklyn coffee shop - which is not as unlikely as it sounds - that the Injectors will be missing that bull inside mid to do the grunt work to assist Heppell, Merrett and co.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you your 2016 number 1 draft pick... Will Brodie.

Do a top 10 draft for shits and giggles.
