According to that guy I quoted from the Essendon board who has a phantom draft on the phantom drafts board, he heard Dodoro say (or was told by Dodoro) that he expects Battle will be gone by Essendon't 2nd rounder (pick 19). He was raving about Battle's game in that final where he kicked 6 the other day.
Don't think he's overly quick or agile, probably like a 4cm taller version of Membrey at the mo (may or may not grow more).

I've also been wondering if he's the type that might go well down back if he came to a club like ours, who want that 3rd-tall option back there.

I always like the idea of potentially drafting someone who has made their name up forward to play down back, if you think they have the right traits. If you're good enough to play forward to a high level, chances are you'll go well down back and potentially be an attacking threat back there, not just dour.

Is a similar height to Justin Leppitsch, who initially made his name forward, before making a very successful switch to the backline..

I think we are in the market for a third tall, particularly mobile and attacking ones. We may be able to fill the dour, big KPD through a cheaper option.

If GC do trade for OMeara they will probably get pick 8 back and I reckon they would probably take him

The indigenous kids they've picked all seem to be outside types. GC need to strike their outside/inside balance a lot better.

Me too. But if I get on my high horse about something and try to sound smart, it usually back fires straight away.

Didn't realise Taranto had elite endurance, that's a real positive. Also didn't realise he was from St Kevs, no wonder Briza was onto him from very early in the year!

Need to get our hands on GC's 8! Taranto is exactly what we are looking for.

According to Cal Twomey the Young Guns game is .... on Sunday, Sept 18 at 11.30 at Trevor Barker Oval.

Not sure if it's the under 17s vs the best of Division 2 (the Allies) again, but it's a good chance to see more draft prospects up close.

With having upgraded big Holmsey, and having delisted just two from our senior list, we are going to have to delist or trade out a few more players to really get into this years trading and draft periods. I would like us to draft in a Taranto, a Rotham or Berry, and maybe Kayle Kirby or similar, and maybe some mids.
