List Mgmt. Draft Discussion 2016

With having upgraded big Holmsey, and having delisted just two from our senior list, we are going to have to delist or trade out a few more players to really get into this years trading and draft periods. I would like us to draft in a Taranto, a Rotham or Berry, and maybe Kayle Kirby or similar, and maybe some mids.

It seemed like a lot of people were talking up Berry at the start of the year but now not so much. I wonder what his draft range will be.

Could we have upgraded Holmes , so we could trade him ?

You can de-list as many as you like, its not going to get you the early picks to get more than one of those guys you want.

I'm still megakeen on Berry. Will be a star. He is the captain of the North Ballarat Rebels TAC side and was heavily targeted by players in the Geelong Falcons. Reports indicate that he copped several injuries during the match, having to come off to quench bleeding and change Jersey twice before a particularly nasty attack saw him stretched off with a season-ending injury (kidney bruising). He was described as being particularly brave and I have no doubt that he will be a leader of men in years to come.

Did Berry chuck?

#sorry

Richmond have pick 6 , and GWS have pick 7. We might need one of those to nab him.
Done...

Richmond picks 6 & 60 for Longer & pick 10.... They then on trade pick 10 & Grigg for Prestia

Puts us in the ball park for Taranto, Scrimshaw, McGrath, Ainsworth

We are already in the "maybe" ballpark for one of them. You are giving away Longer for nix. Pick 60 is meaningless in terms of a discussion here.
Richmond do alright out of it.
They essentially get Longer for nothing.

There's a big difference between 6 & 10 in this draft when you consider GWS & GC may end up having picks 4 (GC), 5 (Carlton for Marchbank is a possibility), 6 (Richmond for Prestia), 7 (GWS), 8 (GC).... If they arent forced to take Academy kids by clubs bidding, then we can kiss all of Taranto, Scrimshaw, McGrath & Ainsworth goodbye.

The only secure early bid for an Academy kid will be Bowes, possibly by the Lions with pick 2, which will pretty much cancel out GC's pick 4. It's possible that Setterfield & Perryman wont be bid on before pick 10 meaning when it comes to the GWS & GC picks, they could just grab:

- Ainsworth at pick 5 (GWS want a quality small forward),
- Taranto at pick 6 (GC),
- Marshall at pick 7 (GWS),
- McGrath at pick 8 (GC)

Only one left then is Scrimshaw who Port might take at pick 9, then our pick & I'd want either of Perryman or Setterfield at this stage, which GWS could just match our bids both times & leave us with our 3rd or 4th preference

Pick 10 is a weird pick in this draft which is why i'd be keen to trade it for a better pick or a worse pick & a player

If Brisbane bid on Bowes at #2
Do GC use their next pick or their latest picks?
Or can they choose which picks?

I wouldn't be happy doing that for a player who is worth a pick in his own right.

I hope we trade a player and our 3rd and 4th round pick to get at least 2 picks in the 2nd round. There are always some quality sliders in the early-mid 2nd round.

Got all the ability in the world, just the 179cm factor limits him. Will play solid seniors next year.
Overlooking McCluggage is risky still
They have meet with him a couple of times, pretty sure they will pick him

they are probably meeting Ainswerth and McGluggage to help decide whether to trade down from pick 1...

Clubs with academies put a premium on pick 1 as they can take the best talent and still get their top 10 rated academy kids as well..

GC would likely give 4+6 for pick 1 and 19.

Allows them to get McLaggage + Bowes rather than Bowes + pick 6 (assuming Bowes is bid for with pick 1-3) or Bowes + pick 4 (assuming Bowes bid for at pick 4-5).
Either way, a good trade for GC and Bummers

GWS would also bid for pick 1.

So bombers just doing their homework..

Shows more flaws in the academy bidding system though, if they can manipulate it in such a way as to even further increase their free pick of the top talent.

If GWS do end up with pick 1 this year... as well as Perryman, Setterfield etc, then expect a general melt down and changes to be made

Add a premiership to that and you'd get the biggest melt of all time.

I reckon that Laverde thread would be passed 100 pages by now if most the posts weren't deleted. Some cranky Bombers fans.
Some happy ones too..Who's the next target...Our clubs all out of unsigned players..You got any? We got cash and the PSD..

Thanks for your interest Sainters...Laverde still LOvesHirdy..It's been fun...

Hope there are no cranky saint fans after being denied by a destination club..Cheers guys..

I'm still pissed that Fyfe re-signed, even though he's no Laverde

I really wonder at the Hird love considering how much he's done to try to ruin your club.
If you were housewives your faces would be covered with bruises but you'd lie to keep the abusive prick who did it out of Jail.
