I'm firmly on the Vickery bandwagon. The club has identified that midfields win premierships. Get Vickery - play him in the forward pocket and ruck him in the front half for a couple of years and then push him into the midfield when Troy Simmonds retires.

He will give our midfielders more of a chance of winning the clearance and could be a bit of a Dean Cox around the ground with his speed and athleticism.

He's best available anyway according to Emma Q and Kevin Shean. They both had him top 5/6 i think.

just got a little bit bored so i decided to watch some draft videos. mainly focusing on the guys were likely to get at 8. was watching the vickery tape and well i must say this guy has a lethal handball. he can handball the pill 20-30 metres. could you imagine this 200cm monster standing in the middle of the ground marking the kickouts from the backline and handpassing to all the runners that zip past him wow that would be exciting. and not to mention how clean he is below his knees. also a very nice kick for a big fella and a decent mark. gota get this guy at 8 im have enough of changing my decision im on the vickery bandwagon. pick 8 tyrone vickery its just gota happen.

Could not agree more. I saw a video of Vickery a couple of months ago and have been hoping ever since. Appears very mobile and excellent skills for a big guy + mobile like Cox etc. We are in need of a tall and this is the one. People seem to feel he will drop a bit and if we get the chance take him. Not sure about middle 2 picks but a development pick at 70 for sure...............Pick 70- Richmond--B.Cousins..Devloping Midfielder

If I were a betting man I'd put a little on Hartlett being a Tiger tomorrow. Just have a feeling Port will pass on him for Rich. If not, the big Typhoon Vickery ! We really can't stuff this up, it's impossible. Hartlett or Vickery, Hartlett or Vickery, Hartlett or Vickery, Hartlett or Vickery. How hard can it be?

As for pick 26, I've now decided the following:

Hartlett......Post over Roughead

Vickery......Suban over Shuey


Pick 58, may not be a needs basis again. Go best available. Can't lose. If it's one of Brown, Sibosado, Jetta, Motlop, Rockliff or Cockie I'll be wrapped !

Pick 70, I'd like Rockliff, Cousins or Hislop.

Cannot wait ! GO TIGERS!

You'd say so. I wouldn't bank on Yarran being available either. Maybe Hurley or Ziebell? I'd feel a little ill, being so worked up about Vickery and Hartlett. Just do the draft now already !

**** Hislop. The kid's got an attitude problem and tickets on himself. He's the only player in the draft who's put conditions on his drafting - i.e. a wage he wants and a 2-year contract. Who does he think he is? Not even Cousins did that. Rookie the prick at best.
My wishlist:
8 - TRENGOVE (just in case anyone wasn't already aware), Vickery, Swift, Hartlett, Yarran, Ziebell
26 - Schoenmakers (in my dreams), Mitch Brown, Sibosado, Suban, Lisle, Post, Redden, Roughead, Hannebery
58 - Sibosado (in my wet dreams), Still, Liam Jones, Zach Clarke, Rockliff, Gaertner
70 - Rockliff, Gaertner, Simpkin, Shiels.
I'd only take one ruckman in the ND and another in the rookie draft, so if we get Vickery that rules out Roughead and Clarke.
Cousins' shave-down is ringing alarm bells for me, so as much as I'd love him in yellow and black I'd pass.

P.S. Kudos on the merge-a-thon PHX and RT. You guys are so active makes me wonder what khan and peejay have been doing all this time.

Edit: Just had another look at Shiels. If Siba's gone at 58 I'd be all over him - if he's still there. Kid's good.

If Freo take Hill as is being suggested, atleast 1 of Rich, Hartlett, Ziebell, Yarren, Vickery has to fall to our pick. Would be happy with any of them.

Thought about doing that but I decided to make a solitary draft thread where all the picks will be put in the OP and all discussion can be done in one place. The reason is because most of the talk will no doubt focus on the first 2 picks while picks 58 & 70 will garner little if any response unless we do something like draft Cousins (which wont happen), so there is no real point having a thread dedicated solely to them.

The new moderators are killing this Board. Its a forum and we shouldnt have to scroll through 444 posts to have a discussion on a specific topic. If you want a general "draft thread", make it a sticky, but if someone wants to create a specific one on Tyrone Vickery, or Pick 26 or Ben Cousins or Tom Hislop... then so what? It is far easier for the participants to read and have a debate over.

New moderators are becoming power hungry and making this Board a scrap heap. If people dont want to view a shitty thread, even a thread created by a troll, then dont open it. BF is about the banter and arguing and having a laugh... not this militant styled management of the Board.
