not that BF experts will learn anything new or secrets of drafting by clubs revealled :D

We will have executed the 2nd draft raping in a row if this goes through.

Perfect for us.

Third. We got Ebert at 13 in 2007.

EDIT: Notte at 20 provides further circumstantial evidence which helps to carroborate the assertion of the alleged 2007 rape.

We were going to bite the bullet and take one of Selwood/Notte with 13 IIRC, with some luck Ebert slid through to 13 and we got our guys later.

So we got everyone we wanted plus picking up Ebert at pick 13... does this not constitute a raping of the draft? We picked up 3 of our current best 22 inside the top 25 picks. Or were you agreeing with me?

Was going to name my three predictions but the first round of this draft going to be so hard to predict as it really does level out after the top 5 picks.

Recruiters will be forced to make quick decisions as guys will slide and clubs will not be expecting certain players to be available. These decisions will have a roll on effect and I reckon we will be quite surprised who slides to our picks @ 22 & 23.

Can't wait to watch it all unfold next Thursday.

7 days and counting...

This would do me do - would be the perfect result.

surprises me to hear WCE fans keen on Black.....you have an abundance of young KPP in your ranks.... Where would Black feature in this queue?....yes I do realise KPP players take longer to develop, but if fella's like Brown, Notte, Kennedy, Wilson, MacKenzie, Wilkes even Nats develop as they were originally drafted to do, WCE have easily an 8 year period sufficiently covered.....how well will Black develop in this time playing bits and pieces of AFL footy? eg: Sphangher, Schofield etc have been unable to do these last few years......the only way the likes of Reiwoldt, Roughhead, Franklin, Koschitzke etc have come on is through increased consistent exposure, responsibility, dependence and game time......sometimes having too much is a hinderance to ones overall progress.

Not saying Black won't be a good player, just reckon he may not develop as well as fans think if he isn't thrown to the wolves early on in his career, when the time is needed....as fella's like Sphangher, Schofield etc have struggled to do......

From a WA perspective I hope a lot of WA good youngsters stay local....so if Black does go to WCE or Freo than that is all good for WA footy.

That and they were all top 5 picks IIRC, unlike any of our talls with the exception of Kennedy.

7) Black

22) Christensen (Bartlett, Jetta...etc will be gone)

23) Duncan

Im getting to like the idea of Black at 7.

No Garantee that Barlett will be gone before 22, allot of players like Bastinac, Lucas, Sheppard, Moore ,Melksham, Stevens, Jetta, Gysberts, Tapscott are all safer bets and they should all go before him, you can thrown in the KPP's and Barlett could slip to pick 22.

Issue is teams like Melbourne, Sydney and Port. Im sceptical about posters who have him attatched to adelaide at 13 and Geelong at 17.

Spangher and Schofield where pretty speculative picks, picking up Athletic 193+ cm Utilities, step up to WAFL is enough for young KPP's, both where TAC dashing running talls but lacked the smarts. Black is rated allot higher than they ever where and i see him more of a FF, he actually reminds me a little of Hunter.

Lewis Jetta - Has pace and x factor we lack, just cant see us shying away from that, knowing he wont be around at picks 22/23.

Koby Stevens - Onballer, tough with leadership qualities written all over him.

Marcus Davies - Defender that carries the ball, tough with a little bit of Woosha/Waters in him but has pace. Davies is my smokey so feel free to take urine samples out of that selection.

My picks are based around what i think will be available inregards to what other clubs pick before ours. I think there "might" be better players than those ive picked but dont know if they will be around at 22/23.

Quality players all the way to the late 20's then drops off, but not dramatically. Think the quality goes to pick 40 then your looking for a bit of luck to grab what may end up being a star. A lot of posters have got black, tapscott, Bartlett etc, but im not sure they will be around.

Anyway if anyone can tip our 3 picks your better than me, because after pick 10/14 anything can happen. First 10/14 picks are reasonably easy to pick, its just the order in which they will go that makes me scratch my head.

^ Go through the Phantom drafts, i can list 35-40 players that could depending on how the clubs rank them means certain players could fall our way, In the end i would not be suprised to find Koby Stevens gone at pick 21 to North Melbourne, he should certainly be out of the puzzle before Barlett.

any chance we'll take butcher at 7?? he was massively rated about 6 months ago. has slipped down the pecking order a bit, but seems the best key position player in the draft.

also it seems that jetta isn't the 7th best player in the draft, but that we are keen on him and don't believe he will be available at 22/23 - this (to me) isn't in line with our usual draft strategy of best available....
