got this off wiki about lecras its a interesting snippit.

Draft and debut

He was recruited as the number 37 draft pick in the 2004 AFL Draft from West Perth. Mark made his debut for the West Coast Eagles in Round 10, 2005 against Port Adelaide. After his second AFL game he was relegated into the WAFL, where he continued to put on excellent performances as both a pinch-hitting forward or a nimble midfielder for West Perth.
He was recalled in 2006 for the Round 14 clash against Hawthorn, but only managed a total of 16 disposals in two games before being dropped and recalled for the Round 22 demolition of Richmond, where LeCras put in a surprise performance, booting 5 goals. LeCras placed fourth in the Sandover medal for the best player in the WAFL in 2006. The award was won by fellow West Coast Eagle player Matt Priddis. He fought his way back into the team in 2007, and had a stellar season, kicking 36 goals for the season.

There was an interview with him, can't remember from where. But he said that it was hard being in the team and not getting a game while the team was flying. Mitch Morton was the other player not getting a game and he left. Really lucky he stayed.

You can use my picks as the "control test" to compare everyone against.

I have zero idea about the players and what they can do - so mine is purely a guess based on BF and some media articles.

So if I get more right than anyone else - you should be ashamed of yourselves :D

#4 Gaff
#26 B Wilson
#29 Menagola

Sub: Green

Woosha did manage to get Lecras, so I live in hope.

I highly doubt Woosha got LeCras (or any junior for that matter).

I would have though recruiting of juniors would be attributed to Woodhouse.

Woosha may have "got" Stenglein and Chick - that would be about it I would assume.

4 - Gaff - High possesion gut running outside mid who should complement our ample supply of inside mids

the next are more needs based

26 - Mitchell - Powefull 198 cm 96 Kg Key position forward
29 - Andreoli - Speedy wingman since we picked Gaff at 4 over Polec

Sub - Chalwell - We may think Mitchell has limited scope for improvement

but that is coming from a hopeful EF fan!

only joking fella's.

...can see Gaff at 4 though.......but can see the rest panning out the same perhaps. Good luck in the draft guys, WCE have some choice picks.....use them wisely!

Not much love for Cook on here?

194cm, plays forward and back and got a perfect kicking score. Coach says he is a 'dead eye dick' kicking for goal.

Big chance to slide to 26 even 29.

Very talented player. Will come down to Mitchell vs. Cook at pick 26 i hope. Cook has slid back in the pack after being touted as a high draft pick earlier in the year and imo seems more of a project key position type. Something that will attract is his mobility, his kickng at goal is another advantage, can go forward, back or middle (not another Staker i hope) but what concerns me about him is his Notte and early Staker like size and weight. Early in his AFL career if he is put near a similar size but stronger opponent he will get mauled physically. Reckon he can make it once he develops physically but do we want a project key position player if Mitchell is right under our noses.

Mitchell has the size to have a greater impact early which if Wilson goes down is what we will need, is equally dangerous around goal and presents well.

For me Mitchell > Cook

Is this such an important consideration with Lynch and Hansen still on the list?(I wish they weren't btw, but if they're being retained, there have to be plans to potentially use them). Hard decision, Mitchell looks a little inflexible to me, Cook, on the other hand, a little too flexible, so he could end up like Staker. I think the club prefers Staker types and I would probably from my limited standpoint go for Cook before Mitchell if both were available.

Cook is yet another CHF in my mind so not worth picking up. If we want a FF we need to draft a FF. The only guys i really seeing being serviceable FF's in this draft pool are darling, mitchell and watson.

Fair point. So Watson can play as a KPF, I thought he was just a backman? It'd be nice if Darling dropped to #26, but I'm having trouble thinking that will happen. Surely someone will pull the trigger before then?

Watson is currently a backman. But he is the only other quality guy i think who can play FF. Booming kick, Strong body on body and a very good reader of the play. All at 196cm. He'll most likely go to carlton but if he was to get to west coast i would develop him as a forward.

The more we read and hear Darling could very well slide to pick 26.

Its up to Freo IMO and since they are keen on Jack Anthony and he is training with them etc why would they chase another FF who also has question marks over if he can play as a KP forward?

Still looks like a healthy group of talent is available at 20 for Freo.

Swans at 21 need mids, Dogs at 22 have spent their 1st rounder on Wallis, Cats at 23 are chasing KP backs, Saints at 24 and then GC at 25 already have Day + Lynch possibly and were not impressed by Darling when interviewed.

Very interesting point, and an idea I agree with. Watson could easily play as a big bodied FF, his lack of pace wouldn't be such an issue due to his strength and he is an elite, long kick.
