There has been so much talk and emotion about our draft pick situation. This morning I woke up and realised why I am so frustrated with the priority picks etc.
If Carlton were having a fair crack every week and playing with passion then I would be happy. If we finsihed on the bottom with less than 5 wins then I would welcome the picks. I would in a strange way see that we had earned the picks and would have no angst with getting them.
However the Carlton side has not played with consistent passion and is only getting the picks because they haven't played to their ability. Should a side or a person in any walk of life be rewarded for not giving their best.
To me I don't feel comfortable with us getting these picks. I think it is a cop out and it is part of the victim mentality culture of the club. Both club and supporters love playing the victim. Be it the Hamill thing or Elliot or the AFL crucifying us or Lawrie and Karl being idiots. We seem to love to look for excuses for our poor form.
Why don't we encourage the club to look deeper into the culture that has caused our problems. We are IMO a club very low on integrity and as such have very little mental strength. It looks like we are going to get the picks. Lets at least try and give these kids a healthier environment to come into.

The Hawks broke the record for possessions per goal yesterday.
