7. Jones/Swallow (take Kennedy, Hurn, Ellis or Murphy if available but its very unlikely that they'll be there.) Probably prefer Swallow over Jones if it came down to it.

19. Lucy or Spangher (or a mid if we get Kennedy at 7)

39. Neagle

51. No idea.....hopefully a player that we rated highly slips down to this pick like Dyson did in 03. Not keen on Heffernan at this pick, we have two PSD picks so might as well use one of them on Heff.

Pretty much agree with ya waspy! I wouldnt mind Matt White at pick 51!

matt white will go arould 30 to 40. For pick 51 maybe a ruck hopefully someone like Jesse White. Pick 19 maybe Pendlebury most likely Spangher. Pick 7 is out of Jones or Swallow would rather Jones. If Swallow he will be homesick and go back to perth Fremantle will get him Drum richmond will get him if Clark is a still there we will get him then a midfielder for 19

fould a bt of information here you go

De-listed Demon and former Essendon Premiership player Chris Heffernan has been granted permission by the AFL to commence training with the Bombers next Monday. Essendon is considering picking up 26-year-old Heffernan in the upcoming national or pre-season draft - three years after he was traded to Melbourne in exchange for selection 10 (Jason Laycock).

And the Bombers are also seriously considering picking up former Hawthorn player Steven Greene. Greene will also commence training with Essendon next Monday and coach Kevin Sheedy is considering giving him a second chance at AFL level.

"I think he has a bit of quality about him and he averaged about 15 possessions per game with Hawthorn. I have always held him in high regard and I certainly like his running ability," Sheedy said.

Three other players have been given permission to train with Essendon - Jordan Doering, Bendigo Bombers, Ashley Eames, Springvale and Michael Rix, Coburg. Bendigo Bomber Kain Robbins was given permission to train with Hawthorn

i would love Greene Sheedy will turn him into a superstar

the actual trade was Heffernan plus our first round pick for pick #10 iirc so it wasn't that cheap.

It wasn't our first pick. It was Brisbane's.
Pick 17 (which then became 15 after the Carlton penalties). We got it in the Caracella deal.

So it was effectively, Heffernan and Nick Smith for Laycock.

I don't know, but I would say that's still a bargain for what Laycock could be.

It was.

But we still kept our first pick (Winderlich). The pick we traded to Melbourne came from Brisbane.

Pick 7- Swallow or Douglas. swallow has speed and aggression while douglas is a natural footballer in the vain of a wanganeen
19- Jones (I think he will still be there) or White (explosive speed I rate him higher than most but he will probably go late second round)
39- Neagle- mistake but what is done is done- athleticism, versatility and lack of height all concern me
51- James Wall. 198cm great endurance and versatile, similar to fletcher and bradley- needs to bulk up but ideal replacement to Fletcher in a couple of years time and with Lee, laycock, Cartledge and Johns gives us a nice mix of developing talls.

What do people think of Varcoe or Tom Rischbieth at pick 19? it would be great having the speed of Lovett and Varcoe in the middle

Rischbeith is a gun. Saw him on tv in the under 18s and he impressed me and then later saw him live in the flesh playing for Sturt reserves and was good once again. Don't think we will take him with our 1st pick and he may not be there at 19 for our 2nd pick. :(

yeah i agree varcoe or muston with pick 19 its worth a risk in this years draft and for pick 7 i think we should go for the best available player whether it be Kpp or midfielder.
