If they are confident of being able to straight Gartlett and Newman out then yes they will.

I don't think they could ever be confident and we are not a club that likes to take risks, especially in the area of culture given our recent past.

Maybe it is, but he did get kicked out of the AIS didn't he? Darling got king hit (which could happen to anyone who ventures out these days) and hooked up with a chick...

Yeah I guess I'm being a tad harsh, but the media hype towards the end of the year put me off a little. Plus I'm not a fan of smallish midfielders unless they have an outstanding attribute or a strong body like Kerr's. Simply can't see Nelson pushing for a midfield position both in the short term, and the long term. Seems like a genuine WAFL player, who will struggle to have a role at AFL level, ala Cockie or McNamara. And there must be a reason he was passed over in the rookie draft, by every club last year.

But happy to be proved wrong as he seems like a decent guy who would give his all.

Not necessarily, as Lewis Jetta proves, and others.

I think with some players the recruiters are a tad too picky and yet others they seem to be lenient with, in their assessments. Nelsons running capacity is brilliant, speed is good, as tested, and his skills are reasonable as well. I would have rathered we rookie him last year instead of Papertalk, but hey, life's a bitch........
