Yah, the spin on the trade would be that we want Sharp but not at 2, which I can understand. Just stinks given we have no use for a fourth first rounder. Unless we’re willing to let Tylah Williams go somewhere else

Can’t say I’m all over list sizes, but I’d assume it’s down to rookie upgrades. Go have a squiz in our contracts or draft thread, keys is great with that stuff

People forget "reaching" pretty quickly. Its all about how the player turns out.

Essendon were reportedly weighing up Tsatas vs Phillpou in 2022. Tsatas was consensus top 4. Mattias latter top 10.

At the time 4 would have been considered a reach for Mattias, but nobody would remember that now. What we do remember, is the bombers blowing pick 4 on Tsatas.

And nor should they. Twomey for example is a journo and bases his rankings and phantoms largely on what recruiters tell him, not on his own assessment of talent.

Windsor wasn’t a reach, would have loved him at WCE and I said that all year. Jackson rose later and many pundits shat themselves because he wasn’t considered a midfielder but he has been exceptional. Oliver has still had a very good career and could have been even better if not for the off field stuff.

Rivers and McVee are a couple of WA boys you guys got for an absolute steal. Broadly, Melbourne’s drafting has been excellent in recent times, apart from their assessment of KPP/tall fwds/defs. May, Lever, Brown all traded into your flag side.

At WCE we’ve been the total opposite. Brilliant late pick ups of talls but can’t spot a midfielder to save our life. Hopefully we get it right this year.

Cal mentioned 5 & 6 for 2 & 13 as something he'd offer WC if he were Essendon, said even that isn't going to move the Eagles' thinking. If that isn't going to tempt WC, the deal you're worried about is definitely not going to

He's already on the career saving shoes/boots too, could have feet issues. I'm with you, looks clumsy and slow
